This is exactly like Wild Beast and The Might Canadian Mindbuster at Canada's Wonderland. I'm am so happy about that because I live 5 minutes away from Canada's Wonderland! :)

I love this coaster and I think it is REALLY underrated. It's a very fun ride from start to finish and surprisingly smooth for such an old coaster.

this coaster is great but if you're tall and you get to the first drop DONT put your head down it hurts dont worry you wont hit your head on the wood I thought i would but even people tall than me didn't

Still running fairly well even after being flooded multiple times, almost engulfed in flames, and just being out there in the wild salty air. My Dad's friend used to be the administrator at Playland as well. His name was Mr. Burns, nice guy from what I understand.

My first time riding this I was so scared. When it was finished and the car arrived back at the platform, it gave a little jerk and moved forward a little and I let out a high pitched scream cuz I thought we would go on it again. I was so embarrassed, my cousin started laughing so hard. It was also my first roller coaster ride so, yeah.

I remember when I was finally tall enough to go on the Dragon Coaster, probably around 1975 or '76. We were a small group of 11 year olds and we'd take the bus from Yonkers to Rye all by ourselves and spend the day. No cell phones, no nothing, but 15 bucks from our parents for the entire day. Amazing footage! There were many stories about the Dragon Coaster; I do recall hearing that one story about someone who stood up and got caught in the dragon's mouth!! That ride always scared me. I have fond memories of Rye Playland. This was great to see!

Thanks for the footage! I remember testing myself at the "you must be this tall to ride" bar for years, just waiting to be tall enough (on tiptoes!) to ride the Dragon Coaster. Still at 35 years old, it wouldn't be Summer without a ride on the Dragon Coaster! I can't count the number of times I've ridden in that very same front seat.
