  • Superb stuff!... Like the guy below (Nereet Keith!) I was at HGS from 76 to 81... Lovely to see - I'll check back now to have a look at Fred Whyatt!... :0 ).

  • @BobbyKempBigBand That's Fred having a shot at goal at 0:44, and at the very end of the movie.

  • @seftonwallet - Thanks for reply - yeah gr8 looking Left-footed shot from our Fred!... HGS btw was the best school ever - truly the making of some good men! 'Virtute Superamibus' as the Romans (and Hydonians) would say... :0 ). best, Bob Kemp

  • Wow, brilliant clip. I was at HGS from 1976 to 1981. I noticed a very young Fred Whyatt in the film, he was my PE teacher when i was at the school. Thanks for posting it, Keith.

  • thanks

  • wot field is this on ?

  • It's the top field, the school playing field which is still there on Clarendon Road.

That's the Duke of Sussex pub at the crossroads of Ashton Road, Victoria Street, Clarendon Road and Commercial Brew near Newton Station.

  • oh right i get you

  • is this the hyde in tamside?

  • Yes, it is now in what's called Tameside.

Most of us prefer it's historic status, Hyde Cheshire.

  • My father in law is in this video, what a great clip for him and his grandkids

  • I remeber playing on that field. I was goal keeper for my house in 1962. I think it was Gordon House

  • Thanks very much for posting this.

    Great stuff!
