There are two options on the table. If you oppose carbon rationing, you support business as usual. Business as usual is the correct course of action, if global warming isn't happening, or isn't a result of human activity. But according to virtually every climate scientist currently studying the issue, that's exactly what's happening, and why. Sure, it would be nice to keep electric rates and gas prices low, but we can't pretend that doing so will be free of catastrophic consequences.

Well why don't we just wait and see, since we can't stop this "cap 'n trade" legislation from going into effect. Say a year after the bill goes into law, if the average American family's energy costs have climbed by a significant number...then I guess we can determine just who the liar is, can't we?

Ok, so it will raise electric and gas bills for all people in Northern climate by twice(or three times or four times - what ever) and any products that use steel by twice (or more).

The point being there is a problem for people living in Northern climate with cap and trade.

The people on West coast or down South will maybe only have higher electric bills if they do not have solar.

If this goes in, they need to add a tax onto people who do not use commercial electric and gas.

If you read my comment, I am against Cap and Trade since I live in the North. I am just being sarcastic when I suggest pig man (waxman) needs add tax on to people already using solar to pay for the higher cost to people in the North.
