  • a very nice tribute to a classic sit com, one of my favourites,

  • What a wonderful tribute to a wonderful lady. She was a pleasure to watch and always had a great figure and dressed beautifully. A long time ago I know, but still such a sad loss.

  • What a lovely tribute! My favourite Sitcom of the time - and I have the full box-set now, and watch it from time to time - it always gives me a laugh!

  • Let this clever show be a warning ( or at least an eye-opener ) to all those who believe that marital bliss would last forever....

RIP Yootha- you will always remain a part of my happy, care free youth...

  • Those good years that we were and never return!

  • i grew up watching this pain, just how husband and wife ougt2get on

  • Wonderful and very many thanx:)

  • Loved this as a kid. I believe the duo made some feature films based on the show. Would love to see them again

  • @martybhoy72 There was one. Don't watch it...

  • rip Mildred, you were great and made a lot of people laugh

  • yootha was one of those rare charecters in sit coms ,a glamourous amourous lady with style and enough ooomph to fill the albert hall, she was totally co ordinated from head to foot a diva you might call her today, she was tough and tender, one of our comedy classic ladies along with mollie sugden, wendy richard ,hattie jaques,

    gone but never forgotten

  • I love Great Britain for humor play like this....great George and Mildred .....

  • You've done a great job by posting this video-tribute to those two memorable characters that are part of our childhood. I'll never forget George&Mildred!!!

  • can't better firefich comment below. great job. very well done. i was 12 when this started on ITV. fond memories. this was a big part of my childhood as was Man About The House...i think we were very lucky!

  • Wonderful...xxx....big part of my childhood...wouldn;t change anything..xx

  • Thanks for posting this. George & Mildred must have entertained millions of people around the world & it'll allways make people happy to watch those shows. Brian Murphy was very funny & Yootha Joyce was not a classic beauty but she could be very beautiful & sexy. The way she died is sad, but that's what happens to many great people.

You've done a great job with this little tribute, thanks

  • your mind is 'warped and tells lies" U never seen that She did not die on the show she sang and was happy , she went home and a few days later was taken to hospital where she died. you have something horrible in your mind that did not happen ? get rid of your evil thoughts!!

  • Congratulations mate, great job. They well deserve to be remembered with love and geratitude. I think most TV producers should stop and look back at such great stuff like this; those sitcoms were funny, original, polite, clean and never vulgar unlike most crap around nowadays. Thanks a lot.

  • Thank you for this. Miss the 70s and 80s.

    The Pakistani Fonz

  • I am in tears after watching this - what a lovely tribute.

Yootha Joyce was a beautiful-looking woman, she may not have looked like a supermodel but she was beautiful. It's so sad the way her life ended.

I watched george and mildred as a child along with my parents, and I now enjoy the re-runs on satellite TV.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • brilliant video. i love this show. dont make em like this anymore. i wrote to brian murphy last year and he sent me a lovely letter back. great guy!.miss you yootha.

  • Beautifully put together! I loved this sitcom and have all the George and Mildred DVDs. I never get bored of watching them over and over again. Yootha, you were great, and always will be.

  • I have watched that several times now,the tune is nicely stuck on a loop at the back of my mind, sad for Yootha, but what a fantastic era to grow up in .

  • She did not die on this show, she passed away in hospital with Brian Murphy and the scripts for the final series beside her. Rehearsals were to begin on the day of Yootha's funeral.

  • loved this show.classic.

  • I really enjoyed that!

  • Brian And Yootha(R.I.P) Were Both Amazing In This.

And I Really Feel For Them When They Said By Around Series 3 Their Fame Had Got A Bit Ridiculous And Fans Would Shout 'Hey George Hows Mildred!' !

I Have 4 Of The Series On Dvd.LOVE IT!

    Yootha Is Greatly Missed

    x

  • That's a lovely tribute - I'm currently enjoying the re-runs on Paramount Comedy 2 :-)

  • a very good tribute, absolutely!, luv watching this on para comedy 2!

  • I've loved Yootha Joyce for years. I even dreamt once what I thought would've been a good idea for a movie - someone who wakes up back in time and is able to converse with her and tell her about her future. I guess it's because she's such a strong figure from my growing up, even though she was long since dead.

  • I loved G&M in the seveties when I was a kid and i still love it now when I see the repeats. How great actors they were..,well, he still is!

  • What a tastefully made and well put together tribute. Well done, I really enjoyed that. Yootha was a wonderful actress, may she rest in peace, and bravo to Murphy, I particually enjoyed him in 'The Booze Cruise' :-)

  • What a great tribute!.I really enjoyed it!.

  • 'Caustic but warm-hearted. Ironic'. Ti amiamo, Jootha.

  • twas wonderful.

    love u Yootha =[

  • It was an Good tribute, NOT everyone who watched the show would know her personal problems, its like making any documentary or writing a biography on a parson and leaving out the part when he/she passed away!

  • Well Done! Nice Tribute, I've only just got into this great comedy show on paramount comedy 2 channel. Yootha Joyce & Brian Murphy Great Double Act, I Was Only 7 months old when yootha past, rip yootha

  • Great tribute. I feel sad for Yootha, I wonder what made her drink so much? Poor woman.

  • Well done Jake a fantastic tribute!

  • Thanks for this Yootha was great, she and Bryan great togethor,I met him once, really nice man.

So sad about Yootha but still fondly remebered to this today,a sure sign of her talent.

  • Yootha Joyce is sadly missed, a great actress. Brian Murphy is a great actor but the hair! Only double combover ive ever seen. Great vid though, cheers.

  • bonito homenaje.... exelente trabajo ojala brian murphy lo vea.... saludos desde chile!!!!

  • Very good, nicely put together..Thx

  • Sad about Yootha but a great tribute!

  • you have made this beautifully well done credit where credit is due

  • brilliantly done !! classic sitcom.

its funny because my grandparents look just like the ropers !!

  • A fantastic montage. Thankyou. I remember being in the studio audience in 1978 for a recording of 'George and Mildred.' Yootha Joyce spent over an hour after the recording going around the audience chatting and signing autographs. She was a generous lady and never had to do a re-take, as I remember!!

  • Excellent montage - love the newspaper clippings - Richard O'Sullivan, Yootha and Brian in panto!!! More please - and of the Fourmiles, of course!
