It looked like you had an air to air and the water to air intercooler that was available with these kits back in the day. It's a will do for the blown 7M, everyone has a turbo I figured a blower would be fun.

Awesome Supra! Just picked up a 82 and was wondering what you think about those HKS honey comb type filters? Saw them on ebay and was wondering are they hard to put on? Should just bolt onto Mass air flow system right? Still got the OEM 5mge.
@mrsupraman82 No Way! HKS is waay too expensive! (~$130)The reason these filters are made is to allow alot of suction from turbos. They let in some dust and dirt but is necessary for high boost. I love the way they look, and would want one on my N/A as well, but unless you have to have that look, you can save 75 bucks getting a different aftermarket one.
Ok, ya looking for a easy to install cone filter or honey comb. I want to take the air box out... where is the best place to get them? Will I need to get new piping? I prefer to just buy the filter that hopefully just bolts onto the existing air mass meter like I said

My 5M has broken 2 strong clutches (Blew meat off rivets) one differential and a transmission. Hypocritically, I am at the point where I am thinking of a built 6M, R154, aluminum D/S, True track, and other upgrades like the feramic clutch kit from raptorracing, and so on...Or the SS camaro. IDK..

@Haladafs Unfortunately that's the route I am honestly considering. Keeping this car up is difficult and I want to sell it and get something newer. Broke 2 good clutches a diff and a tranny. The diff's pinion broke so tru-trac wouldn't help any. It's much more feasible to get a car with beefier parts. Like an MKIV :)

@MrBackdarft Yeah, not the easiest engine to mod. i think I will sell it in 4 years, or rebuild it. Went through 3 turbo's, busted the diff, heater core(the worst!) but the engine has been boosting strong forever. I may drop compression ratio next build. There use to be tons in the wrecking yard, now they are slowly getting crushed away...
@tienshenhan86 Use Tufoil engine treatment - it will keep your temp down so your heater core can relax a bit. Or create a bypass or reduction using water valves. They're getting crushed and it's a shame - what a wonderful ride. Maybe they can make a return as an AWD bi-turbo 3.0L Diesel able to tow a yacht and outrun a Genesis Coupe. Spinning all four tires like a bad boy all over again just the old days. I loved those square Supras before they got all sexy with hips and kissy lips. Diesel!
@trainlinezoo LOL yes, good advice and suggestions! I love the MKII look badly. I fantasize about Toyota Bringing back the Supra with the 2JZ built stronger with aftermatket parts, but no turbo. Just a block off plate where a BIG turbo would sit, aftermarket engine management and Wideband but only like 250HP stock! The insurance would be cheap yet anyone who paid for this expensive machine with many now known uprgrades and fixes, would just slap a turbo on it would rape 1 mil buggati's! EPIC
Oh 2JZ! They should have made the hood so that the driver could see the twin cams through some see through armor. With today's engines and cutting edge ignitions a 2JZ would be dangerous(er). Better my idea. 3.0L AWD 3000Lb Bi-Turbo Diesel fitted with factory nitrous oxide and adjustable coil-overs and slotted rotors would have the same 1/4 mile times and live strong for 3 million miles worth of highway trips at 50mpg. All cars need to fit for towing just in case. My New Supra!
The most this engine has ever seen is 21psi on a Dyno. With the exception of a failed wastegate diaphragm, where my poppet valve on the intake released as a fail safe. I will not boost more than 18 PSI because I don't plan on a rebuild for 4 years. I don't always get on it and low boost is set to (1 bar or almost 15psi.) It creeps to 16 with the cutout and that was enough to break my diff. Hoping my F303 will get here Today!. I'll post pics and boost guage vid when all done.
@TireShredder It uses the HKS PFC F-CON Fuel computer with a 550CC ROM Chip, Dyno is the next thing to do after ignition. It runns pig rich and am going to get SP to tune it for me "open header" because I drive it like that when I boost anyway. Definitely ganna record the Dyno. See the F-CON at 0:18. I NOW HAVE A NEW VID OF IT BOOSTIN AFTER SOME SEAFOAM CALLED "SUPRA TURBONETICS BOOSTIN." CHECK IT OUT!

@mrdcsticks Have not dyno'd the new setup, the old made over 420WHP in portland oregon on C16, however it had some spark blowout issues, the new setup will not surpass that until I upgrade that, but with a cutout, you can make significant more hp at the same psi when you open it because it is made easier, as seen here /watch?v=mvCl-v_AzLE&feature=related
I saw this HKS turbo setup on one other MKII Supra about five years ago. It was for sale on Craigslist but I couldn't afford it otherwise I wouldn't have hesitated to get it. I love that intake pipe that matches the valve covers and has HKS boldly printed on it...I'm very jealous. How did you come across that setup? I know it's very rare and was hoping you might have some insight on how I could get that kit or at least that intake pipe. Awesome Supra btw, subscribed.
@supraman640 This kit is so rare I would really love to see it in another supra beside's Russ Matusevich's 9 sec 5M supra. I came across a guy when I lived in washington who sold it to me, I have seen this kit like twice in my life and they were in a lesser condition. I actually had this on Ebay for like 6 hrs, but the anxiety and butterflies made me retract offer, I was 6 grand shy of a NICE MKIV, but I couldn't give up my favorite car with this rare kit! I'll let u know if I ever do.
