People gave a shit about it. People all over the southwest were opening up there homes to house people from New Orleans who had lost their homes. Food donations, clothing too. People complained that it took a couple of days for U.S. military to make it to New Orleans. Well that was about the same amount of time it took for help to make it to the victims of the Tsunami a few years ago and it's much better than what is going on in Myanmar now.
The only reason we (the USA) are so interested in "helping" Myanmar is to get in and get our hooks into the country for thier oil.
Myanmar Oil and Gas topped export earnings with $2.16 billion from gas last year....and they've recently discovered some very lucrative offshore oil fields.
Myanmar has held off the rest of the world for long enough.. We aren't going to take it anymore.... .LET US IN!!!!
They bury the country using WEATHER WEAPONS like HARRP, then they bring debt to the country in the illusion that is debt relief...(Really Debt Loan) and by reframing what they are doing as help they engender support from the sheeple...Promote their image in a parasitical paradigm that engulfs celebrities, civil servants etc.

Exactly - Myanmar is NOT China. On top of that, what's wrong with help other humans - especially those being oppressed by their government? Stop being a narrow-minded person. Furthermore, our government isn't oppressing US Children by not telling their people about typhoons so that they sit outside protesting and die.
Our government isn't dirty. Some of the PEOPLE working in government offices, they are dirty. I'm a veteran and if I had a penny for every time I thought "Wow, the military wouldn't be so bad if there weren't so many ignorant assholes in it", I would have about $63.51 right now (give or take a penny or two).
It's just sad to see people making shitty, mean comments when they are far away from the problem, safe and warm. They could just say "Wow, that sucks for those people but I choose not to help"...that would be okay, but it would not be mean enough...
