Splitting Recordings in Audacity 1.3 - Records,Tape and MiniDisc to PC Transfer

This is kinda complicated... but if i want to write what if have recorded let's say a summary- and then of course I have to speak at very low speed so that I can write everything,,, but can I manage that in different ways by help of the functions? such as slowing the speed or tempo or by cutting the summary in to parts so that I have time to write everything that I hear.... hope u understand and that u can help me with some advice / ^^

I would like to know how to separate long lectures into different parts, when there are intermittent pauses IN the lectures themselves.

@backin1775 Analyze>Regular Interval Labels might do the trick. Also if the lectures are very long you might want to use Variable Bit Rate with Joint Stereo for exporting to keep file size down ;)

Man Audacity is pretty good for freeware.

This is going to make things nice 'n' easy for converting my MD's, tapes and vinyls to MP3 :)

now to figure out what settings I should use for each medium. The default db settings seem to be working great for my MiniDiscs so far. We'll see when I get to my tapes and records :)
