damnnn....I cannot find only one note without a feel and soul....how much will have to wait for another one with the half of him feel...........only him can put me out skin duck !
SRV really stand on his own and was totally amazing when he 1st hit the big seen in the 80's. The only reason a small few make negative comments is because there are millions of people cloning his style and playing it out as some have put it "Stevie Ray Yawnism's". after awhile it's like hearing AC/DC or Led Zeplin, or running nails down a chaulk board. Stevie was the best man RIP..
@fattirevsbud Yes..........very interesting.............and another cat just like SRV...play from what is inside and true to your passion................

While there are many, many talented guitarists in the world. very few can be compared to SRV. He has something a tiny fraction of musicians throughout history have had. The ability to put himself into the music, and make you "feel" what he is playing. Is that really a guitar? Maybe, for him, it was just another part of his body or soul.... That man was something I could never even dream of being. We will miss you Stevie
@DoraDeSplora Wonderfully put.........you are correct...............like Shakespear said, he was true to thyself.........therefore what came out of that vehicle of his was in fact what he was.............and.........yet it reached into a pop culture.......
Contrast that with the today's incorporation of music into the a bottom line marketing imagine............
Stevie was a one of a kind... even Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks get boring after a minute or two... SRV never did. There arent any others I can say that about.
This is just insanely delicious. Does anyone know the name of this number? This is a great example of the kind of quality instrumentals he would have cranked out for us in future times. See you in Rock "n Roll Heaven Baby. We'll find you leading The Blues Guitarists section.
i used to know the name of this, its on the SRV box set. boilermaker maybe? one of those instrumental he played for years but never made it on a record. ill hav to dig it out and listen to it and figure out which one it is but its on there.
