What is difference between the 450 and 550 cord?

i know these numbers refer to the weight they can sustain.

But, do they have any other differences, for example, is 550 cord stiffer than 450?

@ralPhieZZey 450 Paracord has 4 to 5 strands within it, so it's slightly more pliable than 550 Paracord, which usually has about 7 strands within it. Both work just as well with my designs, only 550 Paracord ties will end up a slight bit thicker.

@sonjenruiu41 - The easiest thing to do (to make it wider) would be to add more center cords (the "short" cords the horizontal cords weave over and around).

@biomarburg - Not so much a flower child. My father was a U.S. Marine and police officer. My mom worked as a secretary at a county district attorney's office. So, I suppose you could say I'm a blue collar child. That said, I'm super community focused, love teaching, and I'm philosophically minded (as you'd be able to see by reading my novels). Not sure what that leaves me. Whatever it is, I call it JD.
