How do I remove the 'service now' message from my 2003 1.6 Golf? It was fully serviced in September but the alert message is there every time I switch on the ignition. Many thanks if you can help me. Dave, Brighton.

@itstherealhappydaze but when I do it my 99 passat nothing happens...hold the right button turn the key let go and rotate the left knob to the right? it doesn't do anything

OK lets sort this one out, is the service light in the centre display or in the speedo with the mileage bit there

@itstherealhappydaze actually what is appearing on my car is an oil service ligth when the car is turned on...but there is oil on the engine ....this light I think is whats causing a rough idle and loss of power,because the computer thinks there is no oil and thus tries to stop the engine,so I thought reseting the computer might work but for some reason this doesnt work for me there is no response at all when I have the knob pressed down, then I turn the key to on nothing pops up saying service
