@nonodaenie The thing about sedatives is that they are dose dependent, especially when it comes to the person. Larger people will take more, but the dose used on a larger person used on a smaller person will more than likely kill them. That's why anesthesiologists get paid so much money, they go to school for years to learn how to manage sedated people in surgery.

@nonodaenie Also, not many sedatives will be instant, they could be damn near close, but if you miss the blood vessel it could take hours. I read somewhere that there was one that was instant and it's used on people in hospitals, but it's only instant if you inject it directly into the carotid artery. The M99 Dexter uses is probably heavily diluted, he probably does check their weight, although there are times (Lila and the babysitter, Dexter using it on Lumen at first) that were a stretch.

Dexter, besides being clearly controversial (by portraying a serial killer in a "simpathetic" way) at least serves the purpose of taking the public's attention away from the real serial killers (I don't think those guys deserve the attention they get - on the contrary, they should be completely ostracized).

By the way, the writing and the storytelling of this series is fantastic.

Season 2 was especially exciting and awesome for me because towards the end when I was at the edge of my seat, tkept hinking if Dexter would ever turn himself in!! It was the season that involved Dexter getting caught the most. Bay Harbour Butcher! LOL!

While I like Season 1 for it's psychology, I think Season Two is the best as far as intensity and overall quality throughout. S3 and S4 are fantastic as well but not quite as good as the first two IMO.
