The nightcore flashlights are very high tech, MADE IN CHINA, flashlights. Would like your viewers to consider some MADE IN AMERICA options; such as, StreamLight, Pelican, and NovaTac. They have offerings with similar output performance. In most cases, they are also less expensive.
@1BattleRattle Great comment and thx for the suggestions. I have a NovaTac and have heard great things about the StreamLights. Need to pick one up next.
acually...aside from the memory setting...(its not that important to me) but anyways...as far as low light goes..you can get the red filter (i got my as a free gift when i got my ld10....but i will say that is nice the shut off feature for your purse (being a man...it doesnt bother me and hasnt turned on on me since ive been using it)...but great review...very good...
@WiccaIsGood You've "seen the light"! lol I'll never spend a penny on crappy flashlights again. I'm so pleased with my new stuff. You rocked it with Novatac AND Surefire. Congrats, Wicca!
@McW00000 Good question. It fits loosely. So, it can stand on a table just fine. It won't snap on for carry though, but, who would do that? ;-) I have 2 diffusers and they are for the Nitecore and the Fenix. In case of a black-out.
Single cell led lights.... especially newer ones from fenix or 4sevens are awesome. I have a fenix l1t v.2 and love it because it leaves out the extra power modes.... there is low and high BAM!!!!!!!!!!!
Most of those are history now. Most all have been replaced by the D10, couple of Fenixes, NovaTac, and Maratac. It's so much better having solidly good light gear.
Thanks for the review and your thoughts on the flashlights! I like how you just chucked all those old flashlights. I was debating on whether to get the Nitecore D10 R2 or their new SP model with low, medium and high preset settings. I ended up ordering the new SP model; just seemed like it would be easier with presets. Thanks again for the video because it helped me to choose a Nitecore!
i just bought a akoray k106 rated @ 230 lumens q5 emitter fenix makes very good durable lights but thier are some flashlights that are better and are much lower priced but anyone who might wonder i can tell you you cant go wrong with fenix
Couldn't decide between the Fenix LD01 Q5 or the NiteCore D10 R2. Just ordered the NiteCore D10 R2 based on your review...also ordered the clip as well. Thanks for sharing the vid! Awesome job, I can't wait to get it!
Thanks Roz! I was leaning towards a Surefire G2 led c123, or a pelican 2360 2 AA led, but am now pretty much sold on the Nitecore D10 for EDC! Good demonstrative video!
Another great vid! Roz, Nitecore D10 is an outstanding light, really like mine. Also checkout the new Quark series from 4Sevens. They are new, but quickly becoming my favorite. Good value and features.
very cool Roz, i have the nitecore extreme you need to check that one out very very bright.. i think i may get the d10 as an EDC flashlight with it being such a small size..
nice video...good to see you most likely change battery on fenix via head ...as in time if you do it by tailcap it loosens the retaining ring and one day it seems glitchy but just needs tightening, but when changing batteries at head no more worries down the road :)
Well, I was interested on the Led Lenser P5, but then I noticed the NiteCore D10 R2 and.. it's so much nicer than the Led Lenser P5.
The only inconvenient from the NiteCore is that it doesn't have any focus method.. that's way too bad :( otherwise she would definitely the best flashlight on market from its price..
Thx to GearFreak, I have annotated that Fenix does indeed twist in the tail end to turn on/off as well as through all of the functions that the clicker does: low/med/high/SOS and turbo/strobe.
Nice comparison, I personally prefer the D10 as well.
I lol'd when you compared that lantern to the L1D with the diffuser. I remember my friend bought a giant spotlight with '1 million candle power' written on it, only to find out you can't see its light with the D10 shining over it.
I wish Nitecore also made a diffuser, does the Fenix one fit at all? I supposed I could make my own as well.
If you're just setting it on a table, the LD-series diffuser will fit over the D10 head, but very loosely. So you couldn't really walk with it, unless you wanted to wrap a couple layers of electrical tape around the head to make a tighter fit...

Check out the Fenix Camping Lampshade. Made for the LD10/20, but fits my Quark AA S2, maybe a bit tight, but workable. Should fit the D10/11.

I prefer nitecores over fenix's. They have the right settings for my needs and they are made tough. Like a tank compaired to a pepsi can.

@clap5 I lean that way too. Nitecore just plain has that hot factor. And not hot as in temp, hot as in... cool. (huh?) lol
