Different kind of violence maybe...at least in the end elfen lied didn't bring much things other than red hot ketchup all over my screen...and gantz , it's more like a surviving games with fantastic aliens and uniforms(and of course both twisted characters) . Basilisk has differently more inside factors like responsibility/loyalty/friends­hip/bloodline atachment ...etc,and this pethetic Love. It's clearly kind of pure violence when all this things mixed up with bloody fights.
