It's art, but incredibly boring. A visit to your local pharmacy will confirm that this sort of rubbish doesn't break any rules...it trades on every-day familiarity...and it doesn't take the viewer anywhere new.
it is art. beautiful minimalist art. maybe if you tried to understand the art itself you wouldn't come off as so ignorant. i love damien hirst's work, and i personally find it very meaningful and inspiring. if all art was safe, conventional, and straightforward, art would be meaningless.

That makes it art even more. Consumerism is a part of life. Art reflects human lives so therefore it is high art.
