BTW what's wrong with recored profit? I think it's reasonable. oil companies produce/refine/transport/sell oil for business, weather oil price is at $10 or $130. They make record profit and recored investment when oil price is high, and lay off people and sell fields when price is low. They are just doing their job, and I don't see a problem here. At least they contribute by working hard and right, not just sitting there and find someone to blame.
Man do you know how much it costs to "find the oil"? you've got to shot seismic survey, analyze data, prepare cash for drill (20-150 millions per well), 25% success rate. No one is willing to do this unless it's opened, otherwise it's like throwing money to water. Besides, Mineral Management Service already preliminary estimated 17 billion barrels reserve. That's all we can do for now.
This is a hoot. Yea, it's easy to say let's do offshore drilling. Now, the hard part. Finding offshore oil. Show me off shore oil and we can talk about offshore drilling.
Let's send our scientists and engineers out to find the oil. Once they find it, we can discuss what to do next.
But let's stop putting the chicken before the egg.
More big oil puppets having fun at the working man expense.
