  • THAT STUDDED LEATHER JACKET JUST FUCKING ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Every now and then a great song gets recorded, this is one of them.

  • throw down your gun, you might shoot yourself - or is that what you're trying to do?

  • bam bam badaboom bam bam badaboom

  • BORO LAD

  • Sue Godmanchester 1975 remember,our song.

    Dave

  • This truck was loaded with Leyland spare parts, Kept going for almost 150 miles. WHAT A VOICE.... This Saltersgill lad ROCKS.....

  • The video has nil to do with Free. Clearly an 80's vid to a 1973 song. Great son btw.

  • every time they play fucking "Alright Now" on the radio, i wish they'd play this instead. but they never play a band's better songs...do they....

  • @mcul2112

Amen to that, and never really understood it either. Just a Sheep thing I guess....

  • I don't get the video at all :L But this song is friggin' excellent :) I love axel rudi pell's cover to it too

  • Totally unrealistic video. No Leyland vehicle has driven that far without breaking down or having something fall off it.

  • @dirtyhabit92 ha, ha, ha ! ......funny, dude.

  • Thanks for posting this. Love this song.

  • Listen to the SONG for fuck's sake!

  • the 70s were fuckin great

  • RIP The greatest guitarist of his time PAUL KOSSOV!!!

  • Rapist anthem!

  • Ah Free, simply great, from the days when virtually every track by rock bands could be listened to by rock fans and appreciated.I wish i was 20 again

  • wishing you well !! wishing for???

  • 80's hard rock and music video ten years before MTV!

  • @The7thsonof7thson Yeh, what a song.

  • @forsheda thanks.1985 i thnks..

  • i like her jacket too....haha

  • i want her jacket!... actually who am i kidding... i want the 80's... can i have them please?

  • very good!

  • Kossoff,,,,,,R.I.P

  • We used to sing this song real loud, biking home in the early morning after partying, waking up the neighbours and hoping my mother had gone to bed so she wouldnot see how stoned I was and that I had too much do drink...lol such great memories from so long ago.......

  • nearly 40 yrs old and still a classic ffs

  • She can't drive that truck with those shoes on. What a bloody mentalist.

  • rockin the leather look there! :)

  • superb tune

  • Paul Rodgers, and Free...awsome then, awesome now....

  • This is the american mix of the track. Snuffy Walden was brought in to finish the album Heartbreaker due to Paul Kossoff's problems, Andy Fraser had left some 5-6 months ago, and you can tell. This is a fantastic Paul Rodgers tune. Thankfully the better mix with Koss was released in the UK. The UK version had a mix of Snuffy and Koss.

Brilliant track, often suggested to be about Koss, but Paul Rodgers denies that it is.

This must be a crap video 'though. What was the director thinking!

  • I love the way to live and feel the music in that ages, and still is going on the true meaning of my life life, Rock N´Roll forever!

  • This is Free as I have the LP, cassette and CD........just before their break-up and formation of Bad Company. Huge Free fan from Fire and Water till the end!

  • Isn't this Bad Company? I thought they did a remake of this song in 1984 and this is the video. My mind is kind of fuzzy. I know Free had a hit with this song in 1973 but it don't sound like the orginal album cut. I think this is Bad Company even though VH1 listed it as Free.Maybe the record company remixed it and re-released it in 84' Let me know..

  • @crazze6163 I agree. The sound and the video is totally 80's

  • love this song

  • omg, i have never seen a 'video' for this song.... shit!

  • Genesis totally ripped this song for "Dreaming whileyou sleep" from we can't dance

  • Great song! Good lyric too!!! I really love it! ;) ...m/ "You've always got something to hide! Something you just can't tell! The only time you're satisfied is with your feet in the wishing well, yeah! You know what you're wishing for love in a peaceful world!" ♫

  • the guitars in this are different from the original... I mean, I got the studio version, the middle solo is different. Any info?

  • @trinconi You were stoned !

  • 80,s videos were so predictable, what the hell has this crap got to do with this classic song.

  • Great great song, crap crap video! Where the hell did that come from???

  • Great great song, crap crap video, where the hell did that come from?

  • I always love taking a shower while wearing leather.

  • Leyland & a UK number plate on the lorry vs driving down the right (er.. middle) of the road..

  • Mean song but the video isnt how i imagined.

  • The best video of all time- Not !. Someone had to be on drugs to this this video matched the lyrics to this song. What a mess.

  • Sheena Easton in latex - hmmmmmmmm, great until she opens her gorbals gob lol!

  • @armandin2048 She's hawt!

  • What year was this video? Is this Free-Alright NOw-Free???

  • @blackguitar86 Yes same band, Free-All Right Now. Video filmed in mid-1980s for MTV, using a Free song from 1972.

  • Only the Brits coud produce a song like this. Sorry, rest of the world. You. too. produce very great music.

  • amazing song!! amazing band! the Free

  • WOO!!! FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!

  • What a load of 80s trash. Could nothing more fitting be found for this classice than a couple of new romantic zombies sauntering around like lost entities in a time warp. I know there is live footage for this Free track, someone must know where it is and replace this offal!!

  • @moseleian

Yeah I agree its a pretty inane piece of work for one of the greatest songs of its time (maybe of anytime), however close ups of the chicks face at least soften the blow some, the guy on the other hand is absolutely disgusting.

  • @atomicplayboy4u must be one of the now "old-romantics" of the 80s I take it, or at any rate someone with as much recognition for talent as one. I was there in the 60s & 70s, so I don't have to swalllow the latter-day propaganda of this age or the narrow minded bias of others who were also there at the time, but who still did not connect with anything other than their parents musical tastes and lifes philosophies. No one forces you to listen to Free, so if you don't like them, dont-simple!

  • @moseleian Save your dirty ponytail wearing liberal BS !!!!!! You arrogant condesending moron! I feel like chopping off your gray dirty ponytail and cramming it down your throat ! Its your perverted generation that has run this country into a hole and the verge of collapse with your demented and perverted thoughts / ideas, and laws !!!!!!!!!!! MORON !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @atomicplayboy4u Ouch! I think something hit home. Exactly the response I expected from a young dimwit who cannot express himself without resorting to rage. Incase you haven't noticed, many more of your peers are reverted than ever we knew in our time. I don't wear a ponytail but guess you might, to match your handbag. By run this country into a hole, I guess you are talking about the States? Sorry, not my land & definately not my fault. It's you & yours!!

  • @moseleian

Guess you're not wishing for 'love in a peaceful world'? Incidentally, the word is spelt - definitely.

  • @mstannta I don't get your comment. What's with a missed key or the odd spelling error when getting your point across on YouTube. I am not submitting a manuscript for proof reading!

  • @moseleian Not really surprised by that: it's a line from the song and was posted as a comment on the particularly vitriolic nature of your comments. Some of us still want love in a peaceful world. Ability to articulate and spell adds to, or detracts from the inherent value of your contribution. Don't you think?

  • @mstannta A peaceful world is something we will never have,as long as people see fit to pick one up on every, dash, dot and commer set in print via any forum, and niether would one even be bothered to try to communicate if that were so. My comments were directed in the first place to someone a little more than "vitriolic" so why don't you have a go at him???

  • @moseleian I'm sure "playboy" will have picked up on my comments to you and applied the "if the cap fits" principle? Anyway you don't HAVE to respond in the same vein, do you? Personally, I am more than a little tired of social networking sites and their "casual" nature being used as an excuse for bastardizing the English language - one of the most rich and beautiful in the world. Read Keats, Byron and Shakespeare if you doubt it. If you have something to say, take pride in the way you say it.

  • @mstannta I'm sure one spelling mistake cannot be seen as an attempt to bastardize the English language,do you? So like I said already, stop being so picky otherwise you'll find that when you are using these social networking sites you will attract yourself a lot of unpleasant responses (if you haven't already). The authors you mentioned fill my bookcases, yet I choose to respond the way I do because I am me, and not them. This is getting boring & pointless now, so I will here draw a line. Bye

  • @moseleian Agreed, but it was you who sought to justify falling standards in general by the informal nature of the medium. In citing Keats et al, I was not expecting you to be like them, merely to take more pride in your choice and use of language. Our exchange has been free from invective, has it not? I hope anyone following our exchange will take this to heart and standards will gradually improve and we may yet have "love in a peaceful world"? It has been interesting. Take care.

  • @mstannta One BLASTED spelling error and I'm seeking to justify the falling standards of communication on the internet via public forums;Pleeeease. There are more important things on this forum to critisize. Over & OUT!

  • @moseleian I thought you'd finished the last time? It was not the spelling error(s) but the tone and the invective that started this exchange (please read back). Yes there ARE important things to criticize (and praise). We are after all united in our love of music: both the good and the other kind (to quote Duke Ellington).

I have enjoyed our exchange. Hope you enjoy good music for many, many years to come. Please take care.

  • @mstannta Seriously, your vocab pwns arse

  • Comment removed

  • @xfmkid Huh????????????

  • @moseleian Not really surprised by that: it's a line from the song and was posted as a comment on the particularly vitriolic nature of your comments. Some of us still want love in a peaceful world. Ability to articulate and spell adds to, or detracts from the inherent value of your contribution. Don't you think?

  • Blackfoot who?

  • idiot movie

  • this is the remix of the 80's.. sounds cheesy to me.. and the video looks pretty cheesy too IMO

  • The video SUX

  • This is the first time hearing his version I first heard Blackfoots, then Gary Moores version I must say blackfoot and garys take pauls version to another level :) Rare to improve on a legends version ;)

  • @atomicplayboy4u Freedom of expression is a great thing ! Respect for other's opinions must be tolerated at all times.

However this liberty can have a sting in the tail, it can make you look a right dipstick.

  • @atomicplayboy4u I heard Blackfoot's version for about 10 years before the original version and was stuck by the different type of production used in the recordings. I did not like the Free version at first. However over time I now believe the Free version is way ahead of Blackfoot's version.

  • can yu please email me this video clip of wishing well tanks its awsome

    my email is totojo@optusnet.com.au

    01eagledragon

  • 21 people are assholes

  • There was a TV series on the UK in the 1980's that 'rebuilt' a lot of classic music from the 60's and 70's as music video's.

This is one of the (very successful) results

  • Have you heard the Blackfoot version. Young Medlocke doesn't overdo it. neither did Moore.

  • @lukemanify Blackfoot Version is Excellentm so is Paul's more recent collaboration with Queen

  • Yeah, a bit confusing. This is definitely 80s on the video, and Free wasn't around after 1974.

  • Sue Godmanchester 75 remember... Dave

  • Sue Godmanchester 75 this is for us, rememember....Dave

  • the shiz y'all!

  • the cheesy '80's outfits/hairdos don't belong with this tune!

  • A Truly Great Song, an Absolutely Beautiful Girl, & Polished British Steel - Only if All of Life Were so Good.

  • By the way, does anyone know what Gary Moore has to do with this song?

  • @c0ffinfodder

Nothing, just more uniformed people or trolls spewing their idols.

Paul Kossoff is the guitarist playing here. RIP man.

  • @c0ffinfodder

In case nobody told you...Gary Moore a cover of this song it was on youtube...not a good version though.

  • Greatest song ever, that's all there is to say.

  • been waiting 3 days to listen to this, kept meaning to but never got around to it...made it better!!

  • This is my song, remember Godmanchester 75 Sue? the best year of my life, Dave.

  • this song is amazing! all i have to say lol

  • my type of chick, and she drives a truck.

  • Tough video...love his voice!

  • I'd like to know where this version of the song comes from, because it's not the version on the "Heartbreaker" album. The guitar track is different.

  • love this tune. sure wish they'd play THIS on the radio instead of "All Right Now" for the 10 gillionth friggin' time.....

  • Girl is really hot !Too bad that she might be a grandmother by now .

  • this must be my all time fav song and im nearly 19 and there well before me but growning up my dad always had there music playing and now when ever im in his car i always look for the batterd old tape thats really getting past its use put it on crank up the volume and people must think me and my dad are nutters as were singing along :) i always feel close 2 my roots listening to free and most people go who and i love it :)

  • I somehow don't think Free had anything to do with this video, they broke up in 1973 and the lorry in this has a 1981 registration, go figure. . .

  • Looking all over for this!!!

  • I'm sorry but this is a FUCKIN TUNE!!!!!

  • The best one in the world? :)

  • The Axel Rudi Pell version of this song is also great!!!!!!

  • Good song...

    Lame video.

  • This guy really does have an amazing voice, classic song.

  • this version of is song are the best.......................are there any other versions before them or is this an a original song.................love their music.

  • Looks like the guitar was re-dubbed for the video too. Awesome stuff.

  • This is such an epic tune and paul rodgers is amazing on vocals

  • This Is Such An Epic Tune & Paul Rodgers Is Amazing On Vocals

  • byh the looks of this video, all eighties movies ripped off free, lol

  • yeah it's solid song

  • free are f*cking mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I tell you what, Milkshakit, if you want to see a banging live version of this, check out Queen's official YouTube channel and watch Paul Rodgers and Brian May tearing it up.

  • wtf is this

  • I love this song. I never knew that they had a video to this song. Paul Rodgers is an excellent vocalist, one of my favorites.

  • haven't heard this song in over 30yrs. a awesome song.

  • i thought exactly the same thing then lmao didnt free break up by 77 ish anyway ?

  • @Theturpitz

    77 ish ?

Free broke up around '73/ '74 Bad Company was formed in '74

  • I will - i had always assumed from the album credits that Koss hadn't played on Wishing Well and had read an article about Snuffy Waldern having to mimic him. Which version is this, because the solo isn't the original album version , its the same as the 'US mix one'. If both solos were Koss, I'm rather glad! (although I dug Snuffy's Stray Dog stuff)

  • Great music naff video.

  • So much better than alright now

  • This is my song ,remember Godmanchester 75 Sue good memories.

  • Long live free !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Bacarus

    Ja stimmt!

Ich liebe das Auto, den Song und die Frau!

  • @ZAPPA100able

You love the car, the song and the girl...yes ?

  • Why does this video look like it's from the mid 1980s, but the song is from 1972?

  • Yeah, that's so weird. The First time I saw this video, I was certain that it IS from the 80's.

  • @Milkshakit Look at the English registration plate on the truck at 50 seconds. The old X reg is 1981-2. On a Leyland truck.

My guess is that back in the early '70's not every song had an official video so one later had to be shot for the MTV generation.

  • @Milkshakit It was re-released in 1985. I'm guessing the video is from the re-release as it possibly didn't have an official video when it was released back in '72

  • Because MTV wasn't around until the early 80s (Money for Nothing - Dire Straights was one of the first), so they shot the video 10 years after the hit.

  • You have a point.

  • @dudestr5552 The dudes have mullets.

  • @dudestr5552

    this is re-release

  • @dudestr5552 According to wiki the single was re-released in 1985 so I guess the video was made then.

  • @dudestr5552 Well music videos didn't really start to evolve till after Bohemian Rhapsody (which many argue was the first). My guess is that with the true advent of Music Videos in the 80's, many record labels may have retro fitted older music from their catalogues with (then) contemporary music videos, to help sell them to newer audiences... and the result is what you see here. Does that sound like a plausible theory?

  • @sword4thelord Yeah that makes sense. Thanks for the explanation. Free was such a great band, and Blackfoot's cover of this song isn't half bad either. It's not as good as this version but it's not too bad.

  • @dudestr5552 This video was made in the late 80's, early 90's. I read where it was part of the Island Records anniversary celebration. Not sure the number of years.

  • @dudestr5552 If my memory serves me Bob Clearmountain did the new mix to this song. In original LP cover it is not clarified whether Paul Kossoff plays on this song leaving the possibility that Paul Rodgers played the guitar parts. Kossof was spiralling on drugs during the recordings.

  • @dudestr5552 Well- so am I !

  • @dudestr5552 ... for the same reason you can take a song from the year one, and make a video of it now, in 2010! it really is that simple.

  • @dudestr5552

That's because all the chicks in the '70s were Disco queens. You know, ABBA Dancing Queen (Blehhh) and play that funky music White Boy (Blehhh). BUT it was bands like this that saved us from the great American Disco Scare. And gave us our women back. And you thought the worst thing we ever gave women was the right to vote?

  • @dudestr5552

Because it IS from the 80s.

  • @Fnatman The song was written in 1972 (and released in 1973). Came out on Free's last album "Heartbreaker".

  • @dudestr5552

Yes, I was thinking of the video.

  • @Fnatman I figured that the video was from the 80s. It just seems a little weird, to me anyway, that a song would predate a video by 10+ years. You almost never hear of that anymore (and, indeed, this is the first time I'd heard of something like it).

  • MisterOldSchool really sucks a lot.

  • Great song. I like the Vid as the girl has got on an amazingly sexy jacket ! Love all these studs and chains on a black leather biker jacket worn by women. IT IS SO SEXY ! ! !

  • lol

  • I love this original verion best.

  • Blackfoot does a great cover of this on one of there early albums

  • great song slaughtered by a bullshit video. the cunt responsible for this should be shot

  • I love this mix, anyone know where I can get it?

  • You mean this version? I can send it to you if you want.

  • Yeah, I love the added guitar licks and the production. Thanks very much!
