  • A 345 with the touch of velvet, Allen Hinds is a true master.... no matter what instrument, amp or effect he uses.... the tone is in the hands!!!

  • Pretty sure that's a ES-345

  • He is the most interesting improviser on planet Earth these days, along with Scott Henderson (at least to my ears)... What a player!

  • The amp seems like a Fuchs TDS.Great Amp and great player

  • Allen is great !! I love the tone he's getting from his ES 345. Notice the varitone control and the split fret markers. Looks like Jerry Blaha's old ES 345.

  • I've noticed that very few guitarist's hands actually look comfortable while playing. Allen Hinds is one of the most relaxed looking players I've seen. It's funny just how much his playing sounds like it's "comfortable".

  • ES345.

Split parallelogram inlays, varitone, gold parts so not a 335. Looks like a 59 too with the Mickey Mouse ears. I used to own a 64 stop tail 345. Sadly sold it long long ago.

  • This is the greatest video on youtube. The tone is amazing!

The playing is incredible, and the guitar is sweet!

    Thank you Allen!

  • That is a 345 for sure.

  • That' the Fuchs Audio Technology booth, and it';s an ODS 50 112 combo he's playing through. Nice guy, amazing player !

  • he is playing a vintage Gibson ES-345 (looks like an early 60's model) through a Fuchs ODS amp with some kind of Xotic pedal in front of the amp... whichever gear he is using, he can make it sound great !

  • sure its not an es-345?

  • His playing is so tasty its just addictive and humbling, must buy his instruction vids. nice post..

  • Is the AC running through the effects loop or front end?

  • Front end.

  • My dad worked on the crew for a band that Allen played for in college.

  • Nice, in Auburn, Alabama?

  • Yeah. They went to college together. I met Allen once when the band did a reunion show in Auburn about 5 years ago.

  • It is Fuchs amp.

  • is the amp on a drive setting with the RC booster on top of that? or is the RC the only source of drive?

  • I'm sure it's an AC not RC

  • oh yeah i see the white pedal in the back

  • yea your'e right - i must learn to get more out of that pedal :-)

  • Hi!

The "unknown" amp is an Fuchs ODS!

I know that tone to well..:)

  • definitely, or atleast some type of ODS type amp based on the left most gain control followed by 3 toggles

  • yeah can see there are fuchs behind him. your right it is a fuchs ods. unmistakable tone!

  • Yeh its a Dumble clone. good shit.

  • I remember seeing Allen at GIT before the fame, he was awesome back then, now Master status, very inspiring

  • es335 or es345 ?

  • 335, I think?

  • 345, I think !

(Varitone + double blocks inleys) ;°)

  • @robinelfstrom it's a 345, a 335 has either dot or block inlays.
