This movie put a portion of my childhood through absolute hell and terror. Whenever it would rain I'd go into panic about some skeleton reviving itself and killing me. I would draw myself away from dark corners/spaces thinking that its hands would pull me into itself and consume me. Hell, I couldn't even get into my mom's car on the way to preschool without screaming in fear, think that the monster was under the fucking car seat, and would pull my feet and drag me down into a hell-like abyss.
The flesh monster is chasing me! I'll hide in this room and lock the door. That creature is just outside the door. Is that someone knocking on the door? It is! I had better see who it is. Oh shit its the flesh monster!
The UK made the best horror films hands down, the Americans should take note leave horror up to peoples imaginations as the human mind can come up with far greater monsters, killers and things going bump in the night than any latest green screen effect. Give me classic horror or give me death, as the great Vincent Price would say.
Skeletons are creepy, especially when they're reanimated with rotting flesh stuck to them! And those POV shots aren't helping any! Though it looks like Grand Moff Tarkin has no way to escape from this one...
I did too I just found it I kept looking for it by describing the movie and then I thought real hard .. Peter something in it yeah that guy that did some horror movies lol. Then I found him and the movie on his IMDB info. Is there a scene where there's a carriage and a casket and the bones fall out or something?
Christoper Lee and Cushing made a bunch of these movies together. I noticed that Christopher Lee usually plays a bad ass or the villen. Cushing is usually the hero or the tragic intellectual who gets into trouble. .
Pathetic, the dirty skin garft tosser came the whole way back looking for his minging finger, in which, Cushing prob scratched his arse with abot 10 times that day......hahahahahahahahahaha!
I watched this movie back in the mid 80's at my friends house. VHS, ahh, how the movies seemed so much better then. Loved this movie, need to watch it again.
I want to see the original trailer. I remember it as being truly great and it really made me want to see the movie when I was a kid. I have this on DVD now but it doesn't include the trailer! >: (
The Creeping Flesh is one of the better 70's English horrors, (along with Hands Of The Ripper, Blood On Satan's Claw, Tales From The Crypt and Asylum ) I'll be adding this to my DVD collection ASAP
@lefty5128 Great films, I haven't seen Hands of the Ripper for ages though.I'd add Witchfinder General, Death Line, From Beyond the Grave & Frightmare to your list too.
@richwicz They released Hands Of The Ripper on DVD here in Australia as a Hammer triple box set with Vampire Circus & Twins Of Evil (very good prints too), I have all on your list in my collection, plus heaps of others, I'm an old school horror fan, thanks for the suggestions though.
I must insist that you give me the finger!

This film needs a DVD (preferably a BD release too) re-release in the UK, the DVD that was available became out of print quite quickly.

@doobiesmoke15 It's an ancient creature whose skeleton grows flesh when water touches it's bones.

@richwicz What kind of ancient creature? Dinosaur?Ape-man?
doobiesmoke15 4 months ago

the part with the door opening and the monster walking in is 100% the same as the scene from dreamcatcher with the alien outside the door.
