Amazing video. I especially like Mark and Darla's flip to a piggyback ride. I had never seen that move finished like that before. I also liked Juan and Sharon's first aerial where he comes to her to throw her. Great performances by all.
There's a big difference in between social dancing and performing at a spotlight final. Actually, there's a big difference in between the all skates in a couple's lindy finals and the spotlights. And that's just the way it works. Of course you try to change your moves and combos each time, but basically any couple at any strictly lindy final, when is at the spotlight, will come up with a routine of some kind showing his current signature moves. Also, Frankie and CJ were back to back weekends. =)
mrsfoc has a point. look at the frankie95 videos from a week ago and you'll see lots of similarities, not just in the moves used by each couple but in the sequencing.
of course the dancing is amazing. but if part of the goal of this kind of dancing is to respect the music, the competitions need to reflect that. it wouldn't surprise me if in the near future, lindy competitions start varying the music a bit more and expecting the competitors to improvise more to fit it.
i don't think you get it. if you're not going to dance on the beat and actually USE the music, you're not dancing; you're basically doing a gymnastics routine with some background music. anyone can do that with practice.
I do got the point. And you're right about the fact that you should dance WITH the music. However, I think that your first comment was lame and uncalled for, and that's why I figure you should still, shut up and dance.
why do jeremy and laura always regurgitate the same routines? well, at least they're finally dancing them on beat for once. well the first spotlight was on, the second was pretty sketchy

Hey Mrsfoc, I'm not sure who you are, but I will like to see you doing even half of the things they pull off every time. Shut up and dance.
