A pretty good one! One of our biggest problems right now is overpopulation. If homosexuality was dominant we might not have massive amounts of starvation and war. Why is this such a threat to YOUR life?

Now, allowing gay people to marry does not necessarily infringe on christianity, because a church can deny to marry whoever they like. But prohibiting gays from getting married all together does go against the constitution.

"Congress shall make no law..." speaks to what the State shall not do - it doesn't lay any restrictions on religion. and churches in have been taken to court for refusing to marry gay couples.

There is no right or wrong answer here. There are only your own personal beliefs of what core values you should live by and nothing more. A pretty good one! One of our biggest problems right now is overpopulation. If homosexuality was dominant we might not have massive amounts of starvation and war. We wouldnt have dense, crowded urban areas. We wouldnt have as much pollution. But the bottom line is that only a minority are homosexuals. Only 2% of men and less than 1% of women are gay. Now, allowing gay people to marry does not necessarily infringe on christianity, because a church can deny to marry whoever they like. But prohibiting gays from getting married all together does go against the constitution.

"Congress shall make no law..." speaks to what the State shall not do - it doesn't lay any restrictions on religion. and churches in have been taken to court for refusing to marry gay couples.

I quit the mormon church and have since been going to a UU church and practicing zen meditation on the side. Keep in mind the vast majority of Christians believe LDS to be a cult. Nobody should have to go through the pain of having their lover die in a hospital, while the hospital is forcing his own lover to stay away from him. The dying partner can't make a decision to have him stay due to the fact that he's in a comatose state and dying, and he cant see him. The only reason he couldn't see him is because they weren't legally married to each other where he never had a right to say that they were related legally. HOW CRUEL IS THAT? There is no right or wrong answer here. There are only your own personal beliefs of what core values you should live by and nothing more. Standing on a corner with a sign; intended to persuade others to join in and support your own personal core values is pointless. Live by your own standards and respectfully honor the choice someone else has chosen for themselves. Ultimately the people choose the law of the land (by majority) so we must respect the decision and move on.

Then you would agree that a compromise should be met in order to ensure both the rights and happiness of both sides of the arguement. As it stands, the legislature would compromise 1st amendment rights is favor of gay marriage, which is essentially trading everyone elses rights for the minorities. If true equality is to be met, both sides must be willing to compromise a little for a solution, or else someone is going to lose their rights altogether.
