Its okay, because the human race will eventually have to realize that we cannot keep living this kind of relationship with our planet and expect to be a healthy and successful species... Our technology is no where near advanced enough to reach another planet that has life on it not to mention there are not that many of them. If we either destroy or use up all our resources we go extinct. Well, then by that time I hope those of us who are ignorant will learn.

Anybody remember the nuclear winter fad in the 60's? It seems to me that the easiest way to stop global warming would be to set off a few megatons every time the earth temp goes up a degree. That way, the nuclear cooling would offset global warming, demand for gas would drop b/c of less people so the price would go down, & I could afford to drive my 1968 Impala SS again!

Wow a lot of people have been baboozled by Al Gore and his push to drive the fear of global warming into the people of the world. He has a vested interest in the purchasing of carbon offesets so of course he wants everyone to believe in global warmingl. If global warming was happening don't you think science would support the theory. Its kind of funny that NASA scientists (probably the most knowledgeable when it comes to earth's atmosphere and climate) discredit the theory of global warming.

I believe that global warming is not something to joke about. The facts show the earth is warming and ice caps are melting. Polar bears do not deserve to be instinct, nor be made fun of. We rely on so much fossil fuel. We need to think of an alternative clean energy and realize our current source is emitting global warming gases. There are more then 500 coal-burning power plants in the U.S that rely on 1 trillion gallons of water every year. 104 of those plants are experiencing huge droughts.

Of course the temp of the earth changes. It's been changing since before we were born. It warms, then it cools. Are you not aware that in the 70s & 80s the excitement was over GLOBAL COOLING? Look that up.

1. Underwater Volcanoes heat oceans more than we do.

2. The Ice Age melted without Human intervention.

Think of all the CO2 produced when we have to clear vast numbers of parking lots, runways, city streets, highways and interstates every time it snows. Think of all the CO2 emissions due to having to heat homes, businesses schools, hospitals, & factories to a liveable temp (approx 68) Those areas that got down to -40 this winter had to raise the temp 108 degrees to get to 68. The IPCC is more clear on this point that any other. Only two conditions rate the highest "virtually certain" ranking in the most recent report: HIGHER day and night time LOWS, and HIGHER day and night time HIGHS.

Not lower lows and higher highs.

That's why it's called "global warming" and not "global warming-cooling".

I heard that statement from teh weather channel guy. He said it was foolish to believe in global warming, or extreme climate changes. A harvard study also showed that the earth was much warmer back in the midieval days. I lost it in this sea of responses, but I've also read in a science journal about the glbal cooling fright in the 80s . The weather just changes. It's normal. We humans occupy such a small portion of the earth it's pathetic for us to think we matter to the atmosphere.
