I have a rescue rooster, a Welsummer [I think] who is enormous and filled with attitude. The hens don't challenge him, they obey him. We all obey him.

  • @k8sl LOL! OBEY the ROOSTER, if you know what's good for you.... :~)

  • I saw a neighbor's free ranging Bantam rooster being pursued by 2 of another neighbor's nuisance dogs. They chased him into my yard, and I thought for sure her was going to be killed or maimed. But he stopped short, turned on them, and sort of popped his wings open at them. It startled them and they halted. He flew right in their faces w/ spurs forward and he gave chase. They ran like two sissies, tails between their legs, yelping and crying the whole time. Best poetic justice I've ever seen!

  • The funny cochin banty saga continues. One of the large turkey's went after a tiny cochin hen the other day. Whether it was mixed up love, or dominance who knows, but she wasnt having any of it. lol. Because of her tiny size she had to leap up into the air to hit him, but hit him she did. lol.

  • Mixed up love.... LOL

Yes, I've seen our little hens go after the roosters here. Absolutely run those roosters off at times. GO HENS! Hehehehe!

  • They're too adorable to be scary! :-)

  • @sixstringsmark

Cute little pets and we love those eggs.

Thanks for watching and for the kind words.

  • lolllllllllll. Mixed in with my full size hens, I have some banty cochins as well. They're so funny! On the plus side, they are more determined sitters than my full size hens. The banty's hatched my duck & turkey eggs. Seeing them try to cover those large eggs was hilarious, but they managed & most everything hatched. :-)

  • Gotta love the little Cochin chickens.

    They really are good Mommas.

You want some little roosters for those hens??? We have plenty of little banty roosters around here too.

    LOL

  • @filly4billy2002 No thanks. At one point I had like 12 cochin roosters. They were driving my small & large hens to distraction! lol

  • Those little roosters will do that now don't they? LOL

Actually I trade them at the feed store for sacks of scratch. The man there sells them to the unsuspecting. Those innocent people who just think they are 'cute' little ornamental roosters. ROFL

  • your bantam have a weird tales....... are they crossbreed from the silky chicken?

  • Some are cross bred from the Cochin Bantam.

We really like the Cochin breeds, very tame, great egg layers, and excellent mothers.

  • I'm actually diggin' the new music :~)

  • Yeah, it wasn't too bad of a choice of music.

But 'Fairies Wear Boots' by Black Sabbath was 'cooler'.

I dunno, maybe I'm just getting old. LOL

Ozzy Osbourne is pretty COOL. :~)

Oh wait, a whole new generation has discovered the 'Osbourne's'.

    LMAO

    Everything old is new again.

  • They certainly ARE a COLORFUL flock of banties.

Some leave us brown eggs, some leave us white eggs. But all ways delicious little eggs.

Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment on this bit of silliness!

    Hahahaha!

    :~)

  • ROFL!

    theyr sooo cute XP

    i love the colours!

  • thank you for posting.. great video these chickens are like a gang of tough chicken hawks.. lol my dad's company logo is a bantam rooster... really he 's used for years... please check out the video I sent you... bye

  • A 'dag' is an australian light- hearted slang word for someone who is funny/ done something amusing/silly. Hard to explain but it is used a lot here in OZ. Love your chickens.. great vid.

  • What is a 'DAG'? I don't know what that means.

But from the rest of the comment it must be okay to be a 'DAG'. LOL!

I think we have about 25 or so bantams running about. Only 4 roosters, each seems to have his own little flock of hens. Every day is like an Easter Egg hunt out there. Sometimes I'll let the eggs go uncollected for a couple of days so the hens will lay in the same spots. Those hens surely love to hide their little eggs from me. Up in the hay stacks or under firewood too. :~)

  • You are a complete DAG!! Wow, what a day you had when you came up with this idea. Brilliance!! What is your number of hens to get that many eggs out of bantams? Ours are total slackers, one egg when and if they feel like it here. Have a great Christmas, hope the wounds heal!! ;D

  • LOL that was funny :D

  • Hehehe!

It was fun to put together.

Thanks for watching and for the comment.

    :~)

    Happy Halloween!

    LOL!

Oh yes, the HORROR of the blood... (don't tell any one... it's KETCHUP!)

    Ahhahhaaa!

Thanks for watching and commenting. :~)

  • Watching the booted bantams, reminds me of watching a little kid running around with big fluffy bunny slippers on!

  • Hadn't thought of that. Very FUNNY! Yes, their little fuzzy feets DO look like bunny slippers. ROFL!

The 'booted' varities are actually our favorite ones.

Thanks for my laugh of the day. 'Bunny slippers'.... Ahhahhaaa! :~)

  • The special effects..just fantastic...haha

  • The 'splatter' of ketchup....

    Works every time. LOL!

Oh no, now we've given away our 'theatrical secrets'.

Thanks for taking the time to watch this silliness. It was fun to put together. :~)

Will never compare to your Pinky Series or your magic cape video... You's da bestest DaNeceyNads!

    ((HUGS)) back at ya'!

    Hehehe!

  • Thats great! I love it.

  • Something different to do for a change. :~)

Hope you did like it and we didn't just make complete donkeys (asses) of ourselves. LOL!

Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 'Stars'.

Next video will be serious stuff again....

    Ahhahhaaa!

  • Big smiles.... Here chick chick chick, does lucky still live in the house??

    xoxox d

  • Mornin d!

Lucky moved outside with Funky chicken to a little pen. Hoping Funky chicken will teach her how to be a 'real' chicken. Lucky is getting wilder every day so that's good. Will cut em both loose soon and see how it goes. Afraid Lucky will get crushed by a horse she's not very bright like that.

5 more chickies hatched, Cotton Ball is a GOOD mother hen. Every one is different colored. Sooo freakin CUTE!

Bout time to take some of these roosters to the feed store. LOL!

    Got EGGS for ya!

  • OMG!!!! I"m going to have Bantam nightmares again! (Long story)........ AAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

  • Be afraid.... BE VERY AFRAID!

    Sleep well.... ROFL!

  • Julie this is a 5 star vid too funny. your so lucky to get to eat them fresh eggs, on the funny side for a moment I thought you had chopped the chickens neck off with all that blood. you got me on that one. LOL

  • Joe... there ain't enuf to these little birds to make all that effort plucking one worth your while. I just go to the grocery store and BUY a chicken ready to cook for $3. LOL!

We DO love those healthy little eggs.

Grandma would have made us chicken pot pie or dumplings no problem. Me, I'm lazy.

Trade extra little roosters at the feed store for sacks of scratch. The chickens help pay for themselves that way. Plus they're good insect getters around here.

But use CAUTION when taking eggs!

  • Be cool lil chick chick--lol!! You even NAME your chickens Julz?

I never felt too bad about eating chickens because they can be so MEAN and cannibalistic--Glad to see you survived the Bantam attack . . .

  • Only name certain 'old timers' around here, Karen.

Eat chicken but we don't eat these. They're so little it wouldn't be worth the effort. We love the eggs tho.

Chickens love their eggs also and don't like me taking eggs away. ROFL!

When we get too many roosters we trade them at the feed store for sacks of grain. Feed store sells the Bantams as ornamentals for $15 each. So he makes money outta the deal and my chickens help pay for themselves.

    Little Roosters will cause trouble!

  • All I could is roll on the floor and bust a gut with laughter :)

  • Hi, Tina. Probably NOT what you were expecting from us.

    LOL!

Glad you found some humor in this video. Figured it'd be funny or pretty silly.... but either way definitely 'different'.

Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. :~)

  • That was great!!! The blood... nice touch. Perfect music for your crazy horror flick. lol!

  • Maybe shoulda waited til Halloween... but couldn't resist. Hehehe!

True Hendry, pulled out that Black Sabbath CD, hadn't listened to it in years. If you like guitars that really IS a great recording.

Original heavy metal guitar stuff and still pretty COOL.

Ummm... the 'blood'... it was ketchup. But don't tell any body okay? (whispers) That can be our little secret.

    ROFL!

    :~)

Hey thanks for taking the time to watch this bit of silliness Hendry.

  • lmao!!!!! u 2 have 2 much time on yur hands!!! yur a pistol ms Julz!!! but i still love the bantams...oh i need like a doz eggs, thanks

  • If you're BRAVE enough to collect the eggs you're welcome to come on over and take them!

    Ahhahhaaa!

We needed a video that was just 'fun' for a change.

Seriously, we like the little bitty Bantams. Fun to have as pets and tasty little eggs too. Those miniature chickies do us a service in return... sure do a good job keeping down the insect population around here. :~)

  • ROFLMAO! Good gawd, Julz... Now I'm not so sure about coming for a visit, that's scaaaaaary! Did you TRAIN that chicken? ...lol

  • Vicious little chickens. And they look so cute and innocent.

Tread lightly in the farm yard, Dea....

Tiny Bantams can shape shift into EAGLES!

    I've seen it... it's TRUE!

Never turn your back on a Bantam especially when you are taking their EGGS.

    Waaahhaaahhaaa! :~)

  • Yeah, Jj.... I think that party cost me a few brain cells all right.

    LOL!

    :~)

  • OMG, Julz!! ROFL! You are TFF! Is this what you do with yourself when you've had too many shots at a wake? LMAO!

    ps... thanks for your "coop"eration...lol
