While what he is saying definately sounds correct you have to take into account that his company deals in bullion. He would have a huge stake in attempting to spread tales of economic collapse in oreder to capitalize on it. That aside he is correct that there is an impending economic problem wether it is 1 year of 10 years.
The US is like a stubborn mule, not giving up so easily, ask Jim Rogers and Bill Gross from Pimco, they regretted shorting Treasuries early, that day will come but not for now, at least in the near term until the world moves away from US dollars as the world reserved currency.
Is it just me or it seems our world is fucked? 2011 has been a very bad year, but I can't wait for 2012, until the so called 'doomsday', at least in economics
Peter is a great economist but what he doesn't see or at least talks about is the collaboration of the mega banks, governments and nearly all communication giants like NBC, CBS and such, in that they have been brewing this disaster for sum time.
And whose opinion can be taken seriously anyway, the massive amounts of mostly Keynesian economists who, just before the collapse, were celebrating how great they were, how they were so important and how they had created a financial system impermeable to any shakeups such as the one that came about shortly after? All the economists who didn't see it coming? They weren't only a little wrong, they were way the f off.
@blythebaby777 are you fucking kidding me???? include fuel and food and the inflation rate for the last 3 years in 9% the collapse hasnt come yet cause they have printed and bailed out like crazy....the collapse is coming and no guarentee but hyperinflation would be the worst outcome possible. Just goggle peter schiff was right about the housing bubble and how just like today everyone thought he was crazy until it happens...too bad even now people wont listen
@Obsequens really... So your going with childish insinuations? Sorry I stand by what I say and thinks he's bias when he says American banks are worst off then European.
@hawkeve yes, really, where did you get that info about his clients losses? I know you stand by what you say, I just don't see what you are saying. I could also just dismiss your thoughts as childish insinuations and close my mind, but really, where would that go? What are you saying by your number 1 point? That he was an adviser and that is why his opinion is now valued? I'm pretty he wasn't just born Paul's adviser... Again, I'm trying to see what you're point is, it's not clear!
And could you elaborate on your number 3? He is CEO of Euro Pacific Capital, "precious metals" is not in the name. If he feels that precious metals are a good investment, he's doing what he has set out to do, so what's your point? Oh and how does the fact that he accurately predicted the housing bubble collapse fit into your assertion that he cannot be taken seriously, given that your numbers 1 to 3 don't have much value in regards to what you are trying to say (at least no apparent value).
1)He was Ron Paul' s 2008 advisor, nice plug. 2) In 2008 his clients reported loses of 40-70%. 3)He is the CEO of Euro pacific precious metals. Isn't his opinion too bias to accurately take seriously?
@hawkeve I'm pretty sure those figures for his clients are bogus, Schiff has spoke about this in the past, I just can't find anything right now on youtube about it thanks to Schittreport. Where are you getting those figures?
@hawkeve HE is stating his opinion about gold and silver, bias ? why not take him seriously.
clients lost money ? he was betting on collapse of the system , Mr. Bush /Obama printed a lot of money in 2008, you cant's blame him for corrupt government bailing out banks/wall street mafia !
Did you know in 2007 that Gov. will bailout everybody? did you? he had no idea!
@arka67 no, he states other opinions. Guess you must have heard and half of it, saw my comment and nerd rage. This is my last comment, but if i pay someone money to make me money forecasting the economy and they lose that much money.... hmmmm
@hawkeve Every single person who owned stocks, whether it was thru Schiff's company or any other brokerage in the world lost quite a bit of money. Maybe you didn't notice but there was a market meltdown and everything but gold and bonds went down the toilet. So saying you can't trust someone because they lost money in a world wide stock market meltdown is just dumb because pretty much everyone who wasn't shorting stocks at that time lost money.
@hawkeve Bias or not, he's been bullish on precious metals for over 10 years and he doesnt flip flop his story. So far he's been right any anyone who has listened to his precious metals forecasts has made a killing (including me). I know Schiff forecasts precious metals to go much higher. Is he gonna be right? I wish I knew, but whether he'll be right or not, he honestly believes in what he says, and doesnt say it just to make a sale. At least he puts his money where his mouth is.
@baboonsquadron Sure they may say some things that are true but Schiff is just being more political than anything else. He supports Ron Paul! WTF? Ron Paul is fucking JOKE as well! He literally said that science has no idea how old the Earth is so they should not be able to teach kids evolution when science does not know themselves! PURE STUPIDITY!! Ron Paul would love to dismantle the "UNITED" Sates & create a loosely bound federation of 50 countries that had central gov.
@Viracocha711 This old video of Ron Paul is about 20 years and still says what he does today watch?v=Z0735005ItY&NR=1. He was right and has always been right on gold the economy and the wars.
@Viracocha711 hahahahaha were talking about the economy not about evolution..Who cares what his opinion is on evolution you fool..he is the only candidate to predict the housing bubble and is a joke?? Your a joke, there is no hope for you.
@Vipa30 Your comment just shows how utterly foolish you Ron Paul supporters are! A man who denies science is not a man qualified to run the most scientifically advanced nation on the planet! And HELL NO Paul did not predict anything! The dollar has not collapsed & is not close to collapsing! Ron Paul is not qualified to be POTUS! Not to mention his racist past as well. YES, he knew what was written in HIS news letter so don't even bother trying to claim he didn't.
@Viracocha711 "He did not predict anything" You just said that..Do you know your lying when you say that, or are you just uniformed? I said housing bubble..admit it
After he vouched for Ron Paul I love him. Mad respect
