  • ,uy bueno este album "Other Voices" la verdad, no fue nada apreciado...

  • Good song, if only Jim Morrison was alive to record it. I can just hear his voice on this song!!!

  • Cool song...

    wow!!!

  • Yeah they should have got another singer and named it something else

  • the doors whitout Jim's voice are not the doors

  • ok jim morrisson is not there but this music is ok,right???

  • aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh.......... this is not the doors.....

  • lol. some douchebag once told me variety is the spice of life. now i hear this x) the doors without jim are closed!

  • jim was the voice no doubt but most people know robbie wrote alot of songs. and played a pretty mean guitar......know your role bitches,.

  • @abad3way Settle down bitches, Listen to the music bitches, Sit down bitches

  • pointless song

  • NO JIM NO DOORS FUCK OFF

  • WE NEED JIM!

  • I actually liked it. It was a bit Little Feat-ish. People often forget that just because Morrison is out of the picture doesn't mean the others can't make a living and continue on. What are they supposed to tell their family "Oh sorry Jim has gone, move out", I don't think so. I was young in the early 70's and I liked it then, still do now.

  • Cool stuff. I'll be the first to admit that its not as good as morrison doors. Although, i'm gonna say robby did a good job on this song. The music is on par. Sounds good. The Doors are awesome and I wish it was jim singing but you can't hate on them for trying. I like it but it doesn't really compare.

  • sorry my dear friends. this is just amazing ...! but without the doors jim!? this music with the voice of Jim was completely different, more revolutionary! imagine ..

  • kreiger wrote most of the doors' stuff. He was a decent composer.

  • The two post-Morrison Doors albums were mostly weak and uninspiring filler material, I agree with most of the negative comments on them.

  • I wonder how many people know that the majority of The Doors top radio hits were written by Robby. Not Jim.

  • takin care of buisness...and workin over time...

  • it's not the doors, not because of jim morrison. the sound is not the same, they had use another bandname

  • Robby could sing decently enough, here and there.

This one has a sort of southern suade to it, akin to Jerry Lee Lewis' or Carl Perkins' vocals, in terms of Robby's vocals in it, at least.

  • Maybe one day computers will be able to synthesize Jim's voice and put him singing the lyrics over this song. And we could see how the album would have turned out with his vocals.

Honestly, the band sounds at the top of their game here in the playing department, but they still sound like half the band they were.

Here, they just sound like the Grateful Dead or some weak shit.

  • Its good music, but it shouldn't be called The Doors,

  • If you don't like it don't listen. Personally i think it sounds great.

  • Without Jim as the front man these doors should remain shut. Good tune though.

  • These doors are CLOSED !

  • not the same without Morrison.... the lyrics sounds kinda horrible...

  • @cl121484 do you know the doors? do you know kriger wrote a shitload of lyrics just as much as

    morrison?

  • Without The Lizard King, this isn't The Doors. But it's got a pretty groovy sound to it, all the same.

  • This is good but nothing special or unique jim really made the doors what it was ..without jim the doors is just another blues band not dissing em but its just jim had a different outlook than they did and when they combined their sounds together it was great

  • Robbie had a a nice voice and all...

But The Doors was nothing without Jim Morrison.

I mean it's the same if Bon jovi continued without Jon Bon Jovi XD

  • wow. never heard this not on vinyl.

  • krieger would be a good bluegrass singer

  • Robbie sounds great! I wonder if he ever went off and did a solo project.

  • You guys a arent really Doors fans are you.

i agree the band wasn`t the same since Jim died but that dosent mean they should have just quit.

ACDC didn`t quit when Bon Scott died

  • @hatleman2

Well, this is the Doors not AC/DC and you almost say that as if acdc is a better band, I really think the guys should have formed a new band or changed the name when Jim died.

  • @hatleman2

Well, this is the Doors not AC/DC and you almost say that as if acdc is a better band, I really think the guys should have formed a new band or changed the name when Jim quit.

  • @1m2a3t4t5 Are you stupid i was only using ACDC as an exampel you morron.

The Doors are my favorit band.

PS i was only pointing out the fact that everybody only notice Jim in this group when the other band members were just as important just listen to the fantstic music they play.

with out them Jim wouldn`t had become famous

  • @1m2a3t4t5

your getting off topic to what i said, of course the other members of the band were really inportant too, but remember led zeppelin's drummer john bonham died, they couldn't go on with out him!

  • Personally I think this was the natural direction the music would have gone with or without Jim. Remember, this was the early 70s. Music didn't sound the same in 71 as it did in 69 for the most part. I guess we'll never know, but I tend to think it would have been similar to this anyway.

  • To everyone saying The Doors are nothing without Jim Morrison, I want you to think about "Light My Fire" - which WAS written my Robbie. What is the first thing that comes to mind? The legendary Organ intro? Then what? Jim screaming, "TRY TO SET THE NIGHT ON, FII-YAA." (see, I'm being fair). Robbie's solo? John's catchy groove?. They were a band, and they all did their own parts. Those who dislike post-Morrison Doors are simply disillusioned by the facade that Morrison was a "Shaman."

  • @21stCentSchizoidFan I will make the disclaimer that I loved what Jim did. He wrote some of the most beautiful poetry a man could imagine, and projected a powerful voice that prompted goosebumps. The point of my tangent was to get across that the whole band came together to create The Doors - not just Jim. So I'd prefer not seeing a bunch of irrational comments stating I dislike Jim.

  • This sucks.

  • The doors without Jim, Big brother and the holding company without janis, and the grateful dead without jerry = pretty much shit

  • sounded too tinny but its cool that Robby did it. You can tell he took a few lessons from Jimbo.

  • its undoubdtedly a doors album! all the right ingredients, however, theres something too clean, and something missing.

but then, i suppose with all the slagging off that jim receices, this shows how his own ingredient sounds when taken away from the doors.

i would be proud to play this well!

  • not bad...not bad

  • no me moleste mosquito!!!!!!!!!

  • the '' another album'' was called hardwood floor

  • @Mega1bob:the "another album", like you said, is called "Full Circle"(1972)...and the album before the " another album" is called "Other Voices"(1971).

  • The Doors without Jim Morrison, Sublime without Bradley, Bob Marley and the Wailers without Bob Marley=bands that suck

  • sounds a bit like a weak version of the Grateful Dead lol!!

  • Moraisito - The best...

  • dammmmnnn!! Doors sucks without Jim. R.I.P man.

  • IF ANYTHING I THINK THAT THIS SONG IS GRATE IF ONLY THEY STILL HAD JIM ALIVE BUT NOT TOO BAD OF A TUNE

  • THIS SUCK!!!

  • They did another album after this that I've never heard but this one wasn't really terrible. Just sounded by the numbers too much. "Ships With Sails" sounds like it could have been another Doors classic if Jim were alive to improve it.

  • @Snailbarf , I uploaded the "another album", put in the youtube search "mae77 verdilac / mae77 the piano bird / mae77 get up and dance / mae77 harwood floor / Mae77 the peking king / mae77 good rockin / No me moleste mosquito / 4 billion souls / mae77 it slipped my mind". Those are the songs, and there's a single who wasn't in the album, put "the doors treetrunk".

  • @Mae77 the first album without jim was "other voices" after that they did "Full circle" witch had realy awesome cover art. they pretty much split up after that. I've got the vinyl of the keyboardest (Ray) 's solo album "The golden scarab" right here. the guitarist had a few solo albums and side prodgects as well.

  • LA Woman was the last Doors album...

  • @wildcatter63 , we know that... that's why these 2 albums aren't in the Doors' catalogue anymore since 1972.

  • @Mae77 This isn't correct. They are in the catalogue, they haven't been reissued for clear reasons, which are most people don't see the trio as the doors. But in fact, they are.

  • @wildcatter63 the last one with Jim, yes.

  • @wildcatter63 *** Last Doors album with Jim Morrison

  • This is still good dont know what some people are saying, i loved robbies voice ever since i heard it on runnin blue' , what a talented man. i think they should have kept on keepin on.

  • my favourite off this is "tightrope ride"

  • This is not The Doors I am used to, but they are still the Doors by reason of their being original members. Not the same for sure. The magic is missing.

  • shite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11 lol soz x

  • not bad but nothing without morrison

  • Doors died in 1971

  • Something's missing, but I can't quite put my finger on it.

  • @Bopalena something?! not someone great is missing!!!

  • @Bopalena JIM....JAJA

  • The Doors without Jim is like doors that can't be opend.

  • @BlisterOnTheMoon heheheh ;)

  • good robbie!!

  • It's just because Jim was the Mad, the one of the Doors who brought the madness in...

and as they Lost Jim they lost the Madness too....thaats the reason why it sounds so....otherwise....without madness..........but thats ok i mean what should they do else?

  • Comment removed

  • Robbie proves he was just as good as Ringo Starr at vocals after Jim's passing. Robbie, Ray and John Boy certainly had proved that "You've got to pay your dues if ya' want to sing the Blues..."Dan O'Niallain, Grafton, Ma.

  • they shouldve kept playing

  • Jim brought a dark, hypnotic vibe to the doors which i grew to love. No disrespect but this has no spark

  • its not the same band we all fell in love with it but still damn good

  • Without Jim is another thing, but still be The Doors, in a different way...

  • thats not the doors

  • it isnt the same with out jim. i still like it though

  • Krieger's voice slightly resembles Dylan's! Solidd. He shoulda sang more back up for Jim!!! haha.. not sure how Jim would've felt about that though.

  • @astocker08 Ray was the backing vocalist

  • @guyNbluejeans Your funny!" He's giving mansions away and many, many other wonderful things of beauty, fun, and love for those that turn away from their sins and follow Him" What god do you follow?

  • They should have played without Jim all along.

  • @zrhinier WHAAAAATTTT?? NOPE!! What was meant to be is meant to be AND Jim Morrison was meant to be the lead singer at the time when he was with The Doors. No one can take that away--NOBODY!

  • @candylaurenkaryn Sorry that was a failed attempt at sarcasm on my part.

  • Without Jim it's not The Doors...

  • no Jim, no Doors:P

  • cool robby singing love it..

  • Robbie sounds pretty good, just way different than jim it sounds good but knowing how it was with jim i dont think many people would want to settle for robbie if he wasnt being compared to jim all the time people would probably think he sounds good, but its just not the same.

  • variety IS the spice of life! is it? yes? no? i dont wanna talk about it anyways. song is ok and nice to listen Ray's relaxed voice.

  • a good tune

  • ok, its great that they continued, but ray manzerek should have been the lead vocalist, robby krieger sounds like a poor bob dylan, ray actualy does jim some justice

  • its a great album, even without Jim

  • this is not the doors...

  • @GULIHIPPY idiot alert

  • @thestrtingline48 are there any real idiots here?

  • @overban888 what?

  • @thestrtingline48 what what?

  • Back when "The Complete Studio Recordings" came out in '99 (then re-issued in a different box in '03), some reviewers on Amazon had the nerve to complain that both "Other Voices" and "Full Circle" weren't included! They may be fine in their own right, but COME ON! They're not on par with the band's catalog from '67 to '71 with Jim!

  • good song

    but this isnt the doors

  • @alexShine41 idiot

  • @thestrtingline48 sup faget you got a fucking problem stfu this isnt the doors and if you got a problem then bring it but we aint singing we bringin drama fuck you and yo mutha fuckin moma BITCH!

  • @alexShine41 its faggot not faget. and yeah i have a problem with idiots, this is the doors after jim morrison died.

  • @thestrtingline48 ey dumbass the doors isnt the doors with out jim morrison you fucking fucktard faget

ill say faget whatever way i want bitch ass mother fucker

  • @alexShine41 the doors aren't the doors ALSO without RAY MANZXANILLA YOU KNOW so don't cheat anymore dumbo

  • FREE ROBBI KRIEGER

  • @alexShine41 jim morrison told the band that if he died or somethin, to continue playing and making music, he wanted the doors to continue without him.

  • WOW! It dont even souns like The Doors without Jim. It would make more sense if Queen relased an album without Freddy Mercury because Brian may and Roger Taylor both did lead on some songs, so another Queen album now wouldnt be as far fetched as this.

  • i miss jim very much but kreiger is very good!

  • @SingeTheBand fuckin exactly he wrote some of there biggest hits when jim was around so i think everyone should just accept this is what they did

  • @jewblacka yeah kreiger could play like flaminco guitar and if you look at some of the tabs for guitar they are insane! and he also wrote some of the lyrics i believe, they could of made it with out jim but not as far as they did

  • The Gibson SG was such a popular guitar during this era. . and a great guitar today!

  • Let's cut them some slack. Ray and the guy's tried their best to keep going after Jim's death. Although not as "edgey" as with Jim, they still did OK.

Jim was a time bomb waiting to go off, and go off he did.

I'd rather be 50 and vertical, than 27 and horizontal.

    Ask Moon, or Hendrix.

Live fast, die young, and leave a beautiful corpse was the "mantra" back then.

That doesn't mean you had to follow it. A needle riddled corpse I'm sure, isn't that pretty.

  • Would have been a good song for Charlie Daniels.

  • not bad, but man, without Jim it doesnt fly does it?

  • Dang Robby's got a good voice. This song kind has a southern rock/folky feel to it.

  • @RayManzarekGod haha that is what my firend said too

  • @callofpownd Its a damn good song still. Not as good as when they had Jim, but still good!

  • @RayManzarekGod yeah still shocking still today that he is dead and will be a long wtih the other best in music

  • @RayManzarekGod yeah very true

  • @callofpownd They should have gone on with the name "The Other Voices"

  • Better than Horse Latitudes

  • pure shit,.

  • @francoizzz your pure shit

  • Ok!!That's Your Opinion!!!

  • Fuck You @Tigerlilly1259!!!The Doors Was The Band..Not Jim Morrison!!!

  • Wrong, without Jim they where nothing. They where good, yes, but this is just terrible compared to the real Doors, and that was with Jim.

  • booooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Was this song an excuse to continue with the band?"

Obviously I cant tell, but seems like "huh" finally to healthier habbits.

  • It's amazing how different they sound without jim. also the lyrics just arent deep or anything. im not bashing ray, robby, or john, but shit did they lose it when jim died.

  • @209116032 I would loose it too if I lost one of my best friends.. :(

  • @209116032 I think you mean, how shit they sound with out Jim! This is truly awful.

  • @209116032 they didnt lose it, they lost jim.how would YOU like it?

  • @thanksforthemessdick It would suck, I imagine. But realistically the product just isn't as good.

  • @209116032 yeah, but ya gotta keep rolling weather you got all the best parts or not.thats why this is the last i heard of the band.your criticism is apra po.heee heee and lets all make a special effort not to drink........ourselves to death.someone may be counting on you.and you are definitely right.I didn't like the who so much after keith moon died and he was the drummer .have a good day

  • when jim died they lost their drug supply

  • i like the songs from the doors trio, there good and all, but i perfer the doors with ol jim morrison in it, i love the lizard kings poetry in his songs and how wild and crazy he was, :D

  • Recorded very well with cool stereo seperation and clarity. I always thought that greatness of The Doors was in how good they were recorded. This is proof because the songs not that compeling other than its mix. I know, I know, I love Morrison too.

  • variety is the spice of life....my sentiments exactly! variety is also a recipe for trouble! lol

  • well the music sounds like the doors it just doesnt have jim morrison singing. Its hard to continue as a band once your lead singer leaves/dies. Theres bands you could argue that wouldnt be the same without the lead singer like Kurt Cobain/ nirvana. And theres bands that continue on and still make good music like Alice in Chains. And the doors are hard to agrue about because jim was the icon of that band in most peoples eyes. plus he had that voice that stays in your head all day.

  • just remember back to that time where some kid tried to be a kiss ass and anounced them as " Jim morrison and the doors", Jim grabbed the kid and threw back out there to announce them by their REAL name.... The doors

  • Jim morrison was not the doors. Ray was the music leader that provided the tone and phrasing that made it possible to evoke the feelings that Jims words did. Jim was amazing but Ray's musical leadership showcased his talent as did the rest of the band. Jim was the poet, singer and leader as far as the image and words went, but he would agree that the doors was much more than just jim. RIP JDM

  • They would have sound different regardless if Jim had been with them...the 70s were starting to take off and musing was changing and in my opinion, this was just a natural progression.

  • if jim had singed this song it wouldve been a hit "jim was the doors" is false because the beuty of their songs is also the music, not just the words.

    Jim forever!

  • esto no es the doors wn

  • still worship the jim though

  • sounds more like three dog nite, but who could follow the giant jim morrison? give him and ray for keeping on. tightrope ride is good, but ray wrote it/ morrison is the doors BEFORE, its hard to put yourself out there without that dynamite. I say applaud, they are musicians no matter what. what did YOU do today?

  • robby sounds a little bit like bob dylan i think this is pretty good the name is the same but they are completely different band and not to bad honestly.

  • it's not same thing :(

  • If you listen to this song not knowing Jim was once in this band, this song is actually pretty good

  • Just imagine Jim singing..."Yeaaa..alright common" ~ In the beginning of this song!

  • jim was the doors...saw the 'remainders' who performed a true 180...could not get into them.

  • considero que después de la muerte de Jim Morison los demás integrantes de the Doors han seguido con el filim de la banda como tal. Pues veo en esta canción que the Doors sigue vijente .

  • fuck, nothing to do with "The Doors", this is a fake shity thing! comercial stuff.

  • yeah, this is bullshit indeed. Sounds like some redneck band...

  • Haha I actually agree with you it sounds kind of like southern rock

  • @209116032

Sounds like "Land Ho!" to me.

  • is this kriegers band or something ?

  • i think it's the band after jim died they tried to keep touring and shit but it didn't really work out
