Instead of fat-only dance groups, how about fat-only gyms? I'm not being facetious. As a formerly obese person I remember how difficult it was to workout beside fit people. I remember receiving looks that told me I didn't belong there. I think if we had gyms that were marketed towards the significantly overweight, they might feel the sense of community and support they need, while loosing the weight and embracing *health*.

Instead of fat-only dance groups, how about fat-only gyms? I'm not being facetious. As a formerly obese person I remember how difficult it was to workout beside fit people. I remember receiving looks that told me I didn't belong there. I think if we had gyms that were marketed towards the significantly overweight, they might feel the sense of community and support they need, while loosing the weight and embracing *health*.

I think instead of promoting the message that it's ok to be fat they should be focusing more on the health issues.
