  • hyvä kapteeni kun tosta pääs läpi

  • world's biggest ships are made in finland :)

  • @maukka98 not the largest ships, only the largest cruseships

  • The Silja Symphony and Serenade are no cruise ships, they have their timetables to go between Helsinki-Mariehamn-Stockholm.

  • Viking Line and Silja Line have very good ships but i prefer Viking Line

  • Sideways.

  • This looks like a FERRY to me, not a cruise ship.

  • @PeterNGloor well its a cruise ferry

  • Lovely ship! Symphony, and her sister ship Serenade, have a large open space in the middle running almost the length of the ship (with a roof over, of course). Many of the cabins have a window inward to this space which has entrances to the shops and restaurants.

  • Kyllä nyt tekis mieli mennä laivalle :P

  • Yes, most of the basic line ships have get trough there, which go to the center port of Helsinki. People say here in Finland, its the place where you can touch the ships.

  • Suomenlinna?

  • ive been onbord her she was a nice boat

  • Silja linen taso on laskenu iha huomattavasti ku se siirty viroo. Nykyää melkee viiking linel kannattaa mennä :(

  • se on symphony

  • been on that boat man i love it.

  • The place have stone all over sides and in midlle there must make curve. If you come there too slow, you can not anymore steer the ship, then thank you and on stones. That is not the biggest ship what is going there thru. It have also sometimes very bad situations because of wind. Not so easy place like it look.

  • dont get me wrong, but how is that a "very narrow gap" ? that looks quit wide.

  • i have cruised with that ship :D

  • thats a fast ship!!!

  • it's not that narrow and she is moving fast

  • Lol Suomenlinnasta

  • It's actually a hybrid service or modern day service known as a cruiseferry with the largest concentration of such service in Northern Europe. The ship has staterooms and a lot of the passengers do in fact use the service as essentially a one or two-day cruise spending only a few hours in the port or not leaving the ship at all while others do use the ship strictly as a transportation conveyance. Both of you are technically correct.

  • That's common knowledge around here. You don't have to be a freak to know stuff like that.

  • cruise ship

  • noooo...

  • tihityhytihi

    Are you from Finland?

    Happy summer everyone

  • Silja line!:D Tallink!:D Vikign line!:D All the ferrys are queens!

  • That doesnt look like many life boats

  • kanske för att dom har uppblåsbara flottar, cirka ett par hundra med 15-20 personer i varje...

  • he new he would fit throw coz why else would he try it

  • no it isnt

  • it doesn't seem like that narrow channel could allow for a deep draft like that ship must have. i won't lie, i'd be a little nervous if i were on that ship lol.

  • The depth in the Kustaanmiekka strait is around 10.6-11 meters and it's good for ships with draft up to 9,6 m. Those ships (Serenade, Symphony) have a draft of 7,12 meters so there's plenty of space under them.

  • Entäs Europe?

  • Silja Europa? 6,80 m.

  • Se on europa

  • @Master59682 Ei ole europa. Symphony.

  • En mä tosta laivasta puhuna vaan ku joku sano tuolla että eropa niin korjasin vaan!

  • @Master59682 typotypotypo :) saanko anteeks

  • SIlja line<3 Paras laiva , saa yön nukkuu suht rauhassa ku nii kallis lippu tonne ettei jokasella tyhmällä opiskelijalla oo tonne varaa mennä bilettää :D sit se on kans paska ku venäläiset ja tälläset kusee suoraan altaasee.

  • Mä kannatan Silja Europpaa;D

  • TALLINK DOWN, SILJA UP!

  • awesome music

  • Comment removed

  • SILJA LINE RULES 4 EVER!

  • I've been on that ship many many times ;D

it's a very nice ship, and large ;)

  • You think it's creepy to see the ship skimming by? try being on the ship :) Viking Line last September to stockholm. Going through the gap and looking down at that submarine on the island in the fortress is a sight in itself. Helsinki is my favorite city, clean as it gets and very easy to get around.

  • oh snap. don't forget, those ferries are already moving pretty good when it goes through that gap too. master piloting skills, cause it turns sharply through it.

  • kustaan miekka - Gustavs Svärd

  • Thats at the Suomenlina fortress in Helsinki harbor. Dont miss this place and dont miss the Raata road in Suomasalmi.

  • This is at the edge of the helsinki archipelago. Narrow and beautiful, but not even nearly as narrow as oxeljupet in Stockholm archipelago, wich this actual ship will pass about 10 hours after this passing....

  • Kind of like your pussy, ForgetThisGirl.

  • An interesting video. I'm fond of ferries and cruise ships. Greetings.

  • scary

  • Also about the video. That is not as close as it is in the archipelago outside Stockholm.

  • That isn't narrow. XD;

There's a ship port in Tromso out in Norway, and a huge cruise we were on had to pass under a bridge, and the supports were, I dunno, maybe five to ten feet away from the deck. THAT is narrow

  • whas this serenade or symphony??

  • Serenade.

  • Noup its the Symphony... you can tell by the eye on the funnel (symphony has blue serenade has white) :D

  • Silja Symphony is one of two sister ships, goes between Stockholm - Helsinki.

  • that ship is ferry to mariehamn it´s in finland

  • Tanks, cool video. That ship was cutting it close!

  • FERRY??? Missed the gap?? That's a big azzed ship.

  • i missed the narrow gap part - where was it?

  • Was the ship as close to you as it looked? It's a ferry service, that Line, right? They make their ships like vacationing cruise ships. It's a popular one, met the QM2 quite a few times while in Europe.

  • i love the music who are the artists?

  • Thanks.

Like I have wrote in the movie info "I put some of my own music to the background to make this action even more "dramatic" :) Enjoy..

    "

:) So the "artists" is me.

  • then you are going to be the ambientalist or sonidist of a hit movie!!with your talent i don't doubt it'll be a sucess for sure, take care.

  • Thanks :)

If you are interested to hear more, I have just aseembled a collection of music this kind to a cd. I can send you mp3 for example?

  • @tihityhytihi Lol send me the CD on MSN xDD

  • where is this place ~?

  • Check the video info on your right.

  • @thefunkyone247 its just outside grönland a little to the left.

  • @thefunkyone247 @ In Finland next to the Suomenlinna called '' Kustaanmiekka ''.

  • @thefunkyone247 Suomenlinna

  • Is this silja serenade ?

  • Im pretty shure it is.. I have been on it 3 times ! Wonderfll ship

  • silja it is finnish not europpa <3 love you suomi My second it is finland I loved because finland peace country I live in helsinki 3 yers and now I live in tuusula .. so finland it is my BEST after my first country iraq <3

  • I heard on the news yesterday that the doctors on board some of the better known cruise ships arent contracted by the lines. So in other words if you get sick or have some sort of injury you may not get proper care. They even had examples of some passangers who died as a result. Something to look into though.

  • Höpö höpö

  • Silja Europa is the biggest ferry in the world.

  • I do think that title is already held by Richard Simmons.

  • it's like the pride of hull and the pride of rotterdam, the two largest cruise ferrys in the world. it is a cruise ferry.

  • Actually between the Silja Serenade and Pride Of Hull there is a diminishingly small difference in size, and actually the largest cruise ferries in the world are Color Fantasy & Color Magic.

  • Is that a cruise ship or a ferry? I'm pretty sure it's a ferry.

  • Well, it depends. In Finland we call that a cruise ship because it makes cruises. It can hold cars also so in a way it's a ferry also. It has cabins for people + sauna's , swimming pools, shops etc.

  • Yeah that's what I thought. I took a ferry (or what you call a cruise ship) from Sweden to Finland once and those ships are amazing. Very classy, I would love to do it again.

  • no it doesn't depend..its a ferry! would you call a car carrier a cruiseship because it carries people hahahaha..

  • Ihan kiva video, Europa olisi näyttänyt vieläkin suuremmalta, mutta eipä käy enään Helsingin kautta.. :)

Silja Europakin on ''olemukseltaankin'' paljon muhkeampi.
