When I was little and my mom would be gone at night she would put on her Loreena McKennitt cd to help me sleep. This song stayed in my memory for years afterward but unfortunatly the cd was lost and I didn't know the name of this amazing song. I'm so happy I've found it again, it brings back such good memories of being a child and I can't help but let a few tears out while I listen to it. I still sleep to Loreena McKennitt :)

I love Loreena Mckennitt and all of her music.

Just the other day I've been watching an old movie called "The Governess" with Minnie Driver and Tom WIlinson. Minnie's character is Jewess and the music in the movies is also Jewish/Hebrew. One of the song in the movie seemed so familiar and then it hit me - Loreena McKennitt All Souls Night.

Jewish song is Saloma by Ofra Haza.

All Souls Night or Samhain (pronounced sowun) celebrated on 10/31 for the last day of the Celtic year where the Celts, Pagans, Witches, Faeries honor what has been given to them during the year and see what is needed for the following year. It's also a great feast by thinning their herds so they can survive throughout the winter and when the veil between the worlds is the thinnest where they can talk with their departed loved ones. There's Japanese tradition of lighting candles in this song too
