@thatguywthatgurl no the engine has a garrett t15 turbo on each bank of cylinders, its twin turbo direct injected. The 4 cylinder ecoboost engine is single turbocharged direct injected.

I've had my 2011 SuperCrew 4x4 Ecoboost a week now, and I'm in love with it. Cruises quietly in town and on the highway, but hit the pedal, those twin turbos start whistling, and you are outta there. Through my first tank of gas, I averaged 15.1 mpg in a pretty even mix of driving. I think that's great considering the power and size of the truck. The 2003 Dodge Ram Hemi Reg Cab 2WD I had only managed 12 mpg.

look at it this way gm did use turbo v6 engines too but they used them in limited produced cars like the buick grand national the 89 trans am and the psyclone and typhoon. the gnx would smoke a corvette in the day thats why they stopped making them

The V6 ecoboost is even with the 6.2L V8 with torque, though it peaks earlier and holds it. Right now I think it's the best F150 engine out there. The 6.2L V8 is still the monster, but the V6 ecoboost is right behind it.

Ford brought A demo truck to my home to test the Ecoboost out it had great power way more than A '10 5.4 I drove at A dealer the same day it was VERY impressive in that aspect. I didn't like the sounds it made or lack of sounds I could live with out the V8 grumble IF it had cool turbo sounds. It didn't...it sounded like a...mini van. I am gonna test the 5.0 and 6.2 see how I like them and keep this engine in mind...also I am waiting to see what kind of mileage the new engines get before I choose

@hendo337 Personally I'm going with the 5.0L I've driven all the new F-150 engines as well, though the Ecoboost was impressive, I'm more impressed with the 5.0. The 5.0L Also the EPA has relesed fuel econmy figures for all engines and they are as follows.

3.7L = 17/23

5.0L = 15/21

3.5L = 16/22

6.2L = 13/18

As you can see the 5.0L is really close the Ecoboost and you don't have to give up the V8 rumble with it.

1 - It makes more than enough power for my needs

2 - I'll be keeping this truck for 15 to 20 years and I trust an N/A V8 a hell of alot more than I do a Turbo V6.

3 - As you can see its only about a 1mpg difference between the 5.0L and the Ecoboost

4 - The 5.0L is 750$ cheaper.

5 - I'm not willing to give up the V8 rumble.

Not saying the Ecoboost is bad...But the 5.0L suits my wants/needs better.
