  • MY BROTHER AND PSALMIST, may I share in love my thots on your presentation. I am Welsh in genealogical and spiritual heritage, my passion for worship is as 'vast as the ocean'. My Welsh forebears have a certain word which refers to the uncontrolable passion that overwhelms either the preacher or the worshipper in a 'Welsh' service. That concept is 'HWYL' (pronounced, I think, hoo-eel). The french word for Oil is, logically enuf, Huile... (ie the "oil of worship")... May you find that OIL

  • If we're talking about the 1904 revival (rather than the 18th century Methodist revival) my Dadcu (grandfather) Jenkin Llewellyn Thomas was a key player in the Garw, Maesteg and Ogmore valleys. This hymn and it's contemporaries are part of my very soul.

  • Bendigedig!

  • I'm from Swansea, (where Welsh Revival began) and that song was beautifully sung and strummed; thanks for posting.

  • I enjoyed that. Was a lot like around the old homestead in the woods in Northern michigan where I grew up. The style reminds me of my father's great tenor voice singing hymns like The Old Rugged Cross up in the woods by the campfire. All the best, God be with you

  • Wonderful and inspiring song!

  • Who sings this? This is so pure and beautiful! Wonder if he has any other music . . ?

I love the simplicity of the music which lets you focus on the power of the lyrics. The combination with the stunning pictures is very effective. Thank you for posting this.

  • Wonderful! What a pure song. May your song bring a smile to the face of the Holy One and may the sacrifice of your lips be accepted in the Heavenly Temple!

  • I would love to try to find the words written out to this song. Beautiful.
