There were dialects all over the place. Sometimes they sounded very different from each other.

There was a dialect in Kyiv.

One in Halychyna and Volyn'

One in Novgorod and another in the Moskva region.

Ukrainians have a language that is a mix of dialects of Southwestern Rus.
