@madeku Great so that makes us both wrong. Thanks for bringing it up.I will forever cherish the english lesson from a person that commited the same sin.Lol!!!!
This is the only song by Zebra i have heard but i look forward to hearing more. I was introduced to them by Dream Theater who do a fantastic cover of this, John Petrucci really goes to town on the solo; you can tell they were quite inspired by Zebra
This was always one of my fave Zebra tracks back in the day, and now, thanks to you-- I have a GREAT live recording of it!! You rock ALMOST as much as Randy Jackson!!!
Dream Theater sended me here :D rly amazing song, its good to pay tribute to the bands that have ispired you, that is what Dream Theater did. now i learned another great band, it reminds me somethig like Led Zeppelin
This performance is wonderful. The vocals actually sound good in falsetto at the high parts but I do enjoy LaBrie's take on it in all full voice! Great band, I hope DT helped them out some way.
What CANT you find on YouTube? This is a RARE find from my teen years - I never thought I would hear this tune again. BIG props to these guys - they pull it off brilliantly LIVE - THAT'S DEEP TALENT! THANKS for putting this up!
I will be in Gretna in October to see Randy if I have to walk, crawl or drag myself there! In my opinion Zebra was one of the greatest bands of my era.Looking forward to seeing this religious experence live. Zebra rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow I never realized how well Randy played guitar while singing....some really cool rhythms and licks while belting out the tunes. Up there with Ty Tabor who also is great and singing and playing challenging rhythms.
Come see Zebra at the St. Cletus Oyster Festival on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 8 p.m. 3600 Claire Ave., Gretna, LA 70053. Admission is FREE!!! Come early and bring your appetite, as there will be a huge variety of South Louisiana's favorite foods, draft and bottled beer, wine, daiquiris, and more.
this i'm pretty sure is from the Strawberry Festival , 2002 - I remember that RJ had his amp setup (no POD direct as usual these days) and the sheriff's deputies right behind the stage throughout the show
I'm sad whenever I see Randy Jackson as the guy has to be one of the most underrated talents ever. He should have been all world successful for years and years.
The most underated rock act of the 80's, fortunately we in Scotland managed to hear about them through rock radio stations. They were and still are awesome and this video proves what a class live act they are.
After putting off going to see them live for 20 plus years, I finally went Friday night in Lafayette LA. They were great ! I acted like I was still in high school...treat yourselves and go listen to them live.
GREAT idea.1 of the most underated bands.I was lucky enough to have seen them many times. And then they were signed by atlantic and after 5 albums the music scene has just changed.& not for the bettor in my opinion.
Someone asked why Zebra didn't make it big well the reason is because they we're compared to Led Zeppelin in a magazine I believed they were called clones or rip offs or something to that effect and it really hurt their future. I personally love them way more than Led Zeppelin but maybe I'm biased since I'm from New Orleans and so is the band. They still play here quite a bit and I know they have a following in New York as well. I've only seen them once but it was awesome.
He is playing keys for this tune.Zebra is a trio and the bass player felix switches to keys on some songs. If your a musician then you probabley know the bass parts are played on the keys.
Do you or anyone else here in youtube land have a close up home made video of Randy Jackson playing the song TIME [from the 3.V album] on his 12 string? Live he usually plays it before they do "Who's behind the Door". I am trying to learn it and I am unsure of a few parts (as the song is in a funky tuning [GGDGBD]). If you have such a video, please, please post it. Thanks a zillion in advance!
Another fan from way back when (easy to be fan since their influences were my favorite bands). Thanks for posting this. Makes me wish I still had a turntable so I could dig out the vinyl. Will have to check out their most recent effort.
Saw them live in Tulsa in the late 70's after the first album which I had on 8-track and wore out. Really thought they'd go farther than what happened. Jackson can play and sing. Glad they're still rockin and hope to see them at Rocklahoma in July! Rock onwards, Randy, Randy
Truly, a VERY cool video... You know? I've always wondered why these guys never made it bigger than they did...? I've loved 'em since the first time I heard 'em! Thanks for posting this, really!

Awesome, but wtf? Are the vocals supposed to sound like that? :p I don't think that it sounded very proffessional in 1:47. ^^ Auch! 1:56. x)
Don't get me wrong, I love this band (I've never seen them live, is it really THE Zebra?)

How do you make any money at a show like this?
okrabay 3 years ago
If you're saying Zebra sucks- you make money by getting guys like you to give blowjobs at a tent at stage left...
If you were seriously asking- then you advertise and Zebra fans show up and pay money.
Either way it was a stupid question.
