@earlysingles67 Merçi Yannick , c'est un morceau qui ètait initialement prevu pour le concert d' hier soir mais qu'on a pas pu jouer par manque de temps ...A bientot !!
Pascal! This is wonderful playing, my friend! I love both guitars sound wise, but, I am partial to your first part using your sunburst arch top guitar. My first guitar that I ever owned was a sunburst arch top f hole jazz guitar like the one you are playing in this video. Truly a magnificent instrument, indeed and I really love what you are playing on it in this video, my friend. Happiness, always, Pascal, Jerry
@TheGuitarjerry1126 So glad you liked it ,Jerry ! Archtops are really unique instruments and this one is carved like a cello , so here you can hear the amp mixed with the acoustic sound .
I played this guitar for 13 years now and asked the luthier friend who made it , many modifications throught the years : But I drove him mad when I asked him to change the original ebony fingerboard for a really thick rosewood one !
Thank you Jerry my friend , for listening and the good vibes !!
hi Pascal, I love this version:) what's amazing about your music is that I can come back again and again...and discover something new in your tunes everytime:)
@lajazzhot Your are lucky Colin , to express feelings through your great singing ! An Instrumentalist like me has to find other ways for musical expression .. Thank you for listening my friend !
Damn!! I love both versions. I used to work in a Jazz Dept store, and your stuff is as good as anything I heard in there. I am always impressed by your musicality, flow of ideas, sense of control, and just darned fine tunes !!! You have such a great touch too. Jazz fans always listen to something and pick out who it reminds them of (Not sure if that is annoying or not to the guy doing it) So I won't. This is the awesome Pascal sound !!! And I love it !!!
@Toracube Thank you so much for this great comment Andy !
Even If I liked the textural organic sounds of the wild electric version I felt really frustraded about the fact that I could not phrase like I wanted at the time over these changes ..
This was the reason of this second version and this time I did some practicing before recording the tune !
Thanks again for your attentive listening and for beeing around, my friend !!!
Very nice playing! Today I'm going to pull out the ol' acoustic which hasn't been out in years and practice, practice, practice. Thanks for inspiring me!
GREAT!! Wonderful tone, lots of expression and refined technique. It reminds me of McLaughlin mixed with a little bit of George Benson, I think. Tricky lines all over the place.
@franco6719 Thank you so much Francesco ! These two great musicians have been huge influences on me (you could also add P Martino for the borrowed reverse sweeps in the list !)
Coming from a great Jazz player like yourself I 'm really glad that you liked it !
@kumhuiguitargirl I'm so glad you liked it Sweet Angel !! In fact , it is the acoustic version of the tune Flying to Midnight you watched ( in an electric trio setting ) few weeks ago ,but as I played the melody just at the end of the song this time , it sounds really different ! And also on this last video ( and all the others upcoming ones ) I tried to avoid some of the abrupts endings I did in some of the previous ones ;
@efjfolli So glad you listened to it Folli ! As I recorded this tune ( under the Flying to Midnight title ) in an electric trio with a kind of Hendrix vibe , I wanted this time , to give the tune another flavor with some Jazz phrasing ! But knowing your electric guitar taste I bet you'll prefer the other version !!
@jjmc60 Thank you very much Jules !! This is the first one of six videos we made in April ( the mixing on the others will be around September ) but as Xavier 's old camera was falling apart progressively it's quite miraculous that all that came out well !!
Some of the coolest playing I have been listeng to for a while ..Pacal ...I am just dreaming away with this one , no more needed to say ..dream land atmosphere created ......just float away on those notes .... :))) gus
@gusthebroken2 Thank you very much Gus ! I was so glad you liked it and you could not make me happier than that when you talked about dream land atmosphere, my friend !!
Pascal, such great innovation on your guitar leads, They are like a journey. Great tone from your guitar a beautiful video.
