@Sonica212 - If you had seen this software you would not make such a comment. The price isnt for the software, but for all the BOOKS you get in the software. Logos actually saves you money if you are planning to purchase a large library of books. I have several thousands books in my Lopos library, and paid about $2000 for the software, so I have about $1 invested in each book, and have those 2000 books electronically (searchable) on every electronic device I own. WELL WORTH EVERY RED CENT!
theWord is a bible software that is actually pretty sophisticated and effective in bible study. It has dictionaries, commentaries, serveral bible translations, and oh, its FREE!!
@TheGreatestProject So you would say that just because the trial is limited it is still ok to temporarily steal the software? I mean... you still have good intentions, right? That's what matters?
My question is do you actually ever buy the software and truly just use the illegal download as a "full trial version" or no? You may start with good intentions, but that's not all you need.
@geistlingster, Sorry I meant to respond to you. I guess I was thrown off by the pronunciation of the word λογοσ. Anyway, I do have the program. I purchased it last January and I'm a Mac user. It came down to Logos and Accordance. This program is a great investment that you'll enjoy. It does thousands of things all of which I haven't even begun to do yet. IF you want to do bible study there is no doubt you will be blessed by this program. I highly recommend it.
@geistlingster - BEST investment you can make if you are a serious Bible student or a teacher! Well worth every penny! There is NO comparison between Logos and the other software out there. Trust me, I have them all, so I know.
Your website claims your software is cross platform, it is not. The Mac version is still alpha after years of alleged development and you expect Mac users to pay for the privilege of being your beta testers. You could have started developing a new version on a cross platform toolkit (Qt for example) years ago. Don't tell people its all too hard and expensive when the only reason this is so is because of your own poor development decisions.
Yes, however the Bible was something people wanted to be copied and they wanted to be spread. Logos is a combination of the Bible and tons of study materials that other people put their work into and would like to be paid for I'm sure. Granted the Logos software is exceptionally expensive, however, who are you to rob someone of their paycheck and steal their work? Just asking.
@sevenarmy1 Yes, aren't we all? If you were actually checking your heart in accordance with the Logos software you stole/The Bible I think you would find that it was wrong and remove the software and then purchase it legally. Spritual growth doesn't have a price tag. Libraries exists and you can read there if you are about books. I think you will find though that the government says it is not legal to download and we are to submit to the governing authorities. Romans 13:1
"Logos" would be pronounced low-goss if the first vowel was an omega (long "O") instead of an omricon (short "O"), in which there are two. Hence, log-oss.
@Danlloyd - Thanks, btw. I guess the seminary professor and pastor I was listening to had it wrong. I won't mention his name because he's well known and has written a couple of well known books...oops :)
Bummer me, I just purchased Logos 3 earlier this year. But, I plan on doing the upgrade as soon as possible.
I love Logos' upgrade policy. So much more reasonable than many others. And 4 looks to be completely awesome! 3 is awesome; but, 4 looks so much more incredible.
This is literally robbery. 1000+ for this software.
