I can see what you're getting at, but this show is more reminiscent of another anime you may be aware of: Trigun, inasmuch as it has themes involving coming to terms with one's past, finding oneself, the ethics of genetic experimentation upon human subjects, etc. I suggest you give it a shot. It's a very easy-to-watch anime that doesn't pretend like it's more than it is (it isn't terribly 'deep' and mostly aims to entertain).

I cannot express just how few sexual themes- let alone scenes- there are in this series. Beyond the intro, there is virtually no notable nudity and, whenever a character is reasonably undressed (getting out of the shower), the camera specifically shifts so that it's a non-issue. This show is many things, but "kiddy porn," I assure you, it is not. Nor are most animes if truth be told, although Japan's idea of what is appropriate for children's shows is a tad different from our ideas.

I didn't mean that there are 2 series, there is only 1 series with 26 episodes... i meant 1 and 2 meaning the series was split up in 2 boxsets on dvd... the first boxset contained the first 13 episodes, and the second boxset contained the last 13 episodes. The complete boxset just released about a month ago containing all 26 episodes.

girls with gun the final trilogy. this anime is cousins with noir and madlax very similar expect noir is set in europe, madlax in asia and de la bruja in america. They should have made one set in africa to finalize the whole world. all are about girls with great gun skills.

Because of such, she has multiple bounty hunters after her, who want to capture her dead or alive. However, one such bounty hunter, named Nadie, actually ends up protecting her and traveling with her. It's really cute. XD
