  • Feeling proud that I managed to do this myself a while ago to make a dress maker's dummy to my measurements :) Glad to hear that someone with experience uses pretty much the same method to make patterns as I do, being a bumbling amateur lol

  • Wow. Thank you so much. I love your methods. Simple and so easy to understand. And all these explanations on how to take our measurements. You have given me the confidence to try and do a top for myself. By the way your tan is beautiful but you don't need that . You are beautiful naturally. Again tyvm

  • THE BEST VID ON PATTERN MAKING. IM SURPRISED YOU DONT HAVE MORE VIEWS...

  • what do you do for the back of the pattern??

  • @jkatz55

The same as the front just alter it so that it doesn't look like the front. For example if you're doing a vest, just don't cut a neckline and you'll have a nice back.

  • this is very helpful, thank you! c:

  • AWESOME!!!!!:)

  • That was really good! The easiest pattern vid I have found on youtube so far! Very clearly explained, good diagrams, great editing of the instructions so the viewer was never confused and the music made it fun to watch too! Well done!

  • Lets go and slap those three people like crazy who disliked this.

  • Wow! you are a clever young lady.....its also important to to measure inbetween your upper hip which is inbetween your waist and and fullest part of hip.....this will give an even better fit. You do a great job keep up the good work.

  • just what i was looking for, for my hobby thank you so much and your right you can do so much with this. THANK YOU!

  • Honeychild, I so do appreciate you for doing this video. You are ultra sensational, and yes, I certainly learned a lot from this video. You are also right about skin color. We are all fabulous no matter what color or tone we are blessed with.

  • my pattern looks a little big...is it supposed to be that way?

  • @darcela i think because it's supposed to go on a 3d person, when you flatten that out, it looks bigger.

  • i agree with the oodles of comments asking you to make more pattern making videos. i think this one is great and it really helped me. :]

  • pls. make a pants pattern pls pls pls thanks

  • how would you recommend to make a pattern for pants?

  • i really like this "how to make pattern" tutorial. i hope it's possible to see more tutorials like this in the future. :)

  • i really like your tutorial =D

it would be so great if you did a tutorial for sleeve patterns next *O*

  • how would i use that on fabric? do i just cut my fabric to how the pattern is would i make two then sew together? i don't get it some on help me please

  • @oxymoron41 i hope i don't sound too confusing :p alright, so yunno how she divided the measurements (that went around her body) by 4? think of it as a quarter of the shirt. when you cut the fabric for your shirt, you're most likely not going to want a seem right down the middle front of your shirt. so that means you need to cut out another pattern and tape (or attach by other means) them together. by doing that, you end up with the full front of the shirt. when you cut out the fabric,

  • @CrzyXAzn cut out two pieces. and hem, sew the sides, etc :P again, sorry if that's a bit confusing!

  • Is there anyway to make a tanktop with a non stretchy knit? I have cotton for a costume I am going to make but would like to know how to make it a fitted tank top.

  • @Toboekyo Firstly, you need to add a little more ease -- make the pattern a little wider, or set the pattern described above about half an inch from the fold of the fabric when you cut it out. then, you'll want to add darts at the front arm holes. These will be easier to measure when you're wearing it. you just need to put the shirt on inside out, and pin where it gaps at your armpits in the front. If you want a looser shirt, leave more ease when you create the pattern.

  • yay for tans! like everyone at my highschool is anti tans cus theyre all go pale anerexic vampires lol . thanks for the vid.

  • Hi. I have a question that doesn't have nothing to do with this video, but I need help ;_; Do you always use "elastic" fabrics (those who stretch a little bit)? Because I tried to make a skirt from one of your tutorials, but the fabric didn't stretch even a bit, and I couldn't wear it xD (I used the waist measurement and everything but our hips are bigger then our waist so...) Thanks! :D

  • For a camera you should try the Sony-DSC W300 it's a great camera and really good for movies

  • you look AMAZINGG

  • You look filipino now...hehe ^_^...this was kinda confusing for me but I'm super beginner....I will keep rewatching until my brain clicks lol. Who's your fave on Project Runway...I like Mondo and Casonova ;)

  • im alittle confused dont you mean measure to the beginning of the tank top and not the end i was trying this and got mixed up and it came out wrong when i was trying it. idk maybe idid something wrong. anyways thanks for the tut. it helps alot. cant wait for more.

  • @momolovesricehearts

I noticed this too. It's the part where you measure from the top of the bust to the end of the tank top. When you draw the curve you start from that mark at the end of the tank top and go down to the top of the bust. Then you draw further out for the top of the shoulder line?! Confusing to me too but thank you very much for this video. I'm definitely going to use some of these tips. If you can help me understand the shoulder part that would be awesome. :-)

  • @leahknits im screaming at that part too! shes made an error or somehing cuz its not working and im so confused arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU WANT TO SEE HER ON PROJECT RUNWAY!

  • I don't get one thing - why do girls want to be tanned? Not to mention it is dangerous, but you look OLD with dark skin, and for most girls it looks obviously un-natural D: I'm not talking about when you travel for e.g. to egypt, you just can't help it,you tan and there is almost no way to avoid that. I just don't get why lots of girls tan on purpose. That is sooooo not healthy for skin.

  • @Sasumiwo I'm naturally tan...I think girls do it b/c it hides your skin's imperfections and it makes you look skinnier...tanned skin really defines your muscles

  • :]] hip hip hooray

  • love your tan:D

  • HOLY SHIT, O_O that's one good tanning session you got there. LOL

  • @jadoremoiamore I have the same problem: I buy oodles of fabric and plan out stuff in my head... and then I screw it up and get discouraged by fear of wasting more fabric!

  • @Squatchylicious i would get ideas from magazines & when i try to make them not any has worked...i;m so excited to try this out.lol...don't get discouraged justtake a brake & when you feeling productive again try to do whatever you have on mind, remember practice makes perfect.
