oh yeah and if you're running interlaced video (might say 60i) that's a can of worms in itself. interlace is a mess. if possible try progressive video. 30p.
the elizabeth graphics looks like it's dotted which is a sign of incorrect interlace handling which is why I thought of it. could just be the step to youtube though but interlace is a mess processing wise so if it can be avoided..
Please excuse the delayed response...wow! Great response and very informative. I think I have it down now. When I return home Imma try it again :-) Happy Turkey Day!!
also, a kenstone website suggests that a 3rd party plugin for final cut named DVmatte pro is better than the built in.
for green screen, a huge part of it is the software quality and it's often not smart enough.
also if an option in the camera, use the highest video quality compression wise. as low compression as possible. professionally speaking it's probably a deadly sin to use compressed video for chroma keying because the compression method is often sloppy with color especially at edges.
I'm not familiar with Final Cut but I'd say there are two tasks to green screening, smooth accurate masking the green part of the image and then there is the green tint on the rest as a result of exchange of light in the room. all things exchange light so your hair can be lit by the green screen and the chairs might reflect some of the screen. what you might try is distance the screen a bit and arrange less light on it
lol @ your "testing testing 1, 2" dance. It could be the new dance craze! I can't use Final Cut Pro since I am on PC & not Mac. I may invest in a Macbook. Let me know when u upload the deal u mentioned before.
I love the graphics!! The middle guitars cover your name a little bit. I think this is an awesome background! I am mailing out my dvd stuff to u today. This has the potential to kick some major ass. I am very proud of u, hon.
you need to test your camera with keying. For most HDV / HD mpg shoots these days, turn the sharpness to full off. Sony cameras usually have an on/off switch
Beautiful ! :)
