I would buy these if someone put them on DVD=) I think she is so talented for her time! I wish the celebrities of today had as much talent as Vera-Ellen has in one tap dancing toe!!
I really don't understand why it is so difficult to find wonderful films like this on DVD, let alone region2 DVD's. From all the reactions I see when looking at uploaded fragments on Youtube, you'd think that there is money to be made if they do put these on DVD. Surely that would be incentive enough?
I think that there is not enough of a demand for these type films to make it worthwhile for the film owners to convert them to DVD. Unfortunately, I think we are just a small niche in the whole world movie audience who love these type of movies. :-)
That is partly also because people aren't exposed to these gems as much. I was born in the early 80s and was able to watch some of these classics on the BBC, and with holidays Dutch or Belgian tv might show a couple. Nowadays I don't see them anymore, except the obvious Christmas classics. Shame really, I'm sure many more people would love them if only they got to know them.
I agree! i am very young but i very much enjoy these old classics and aspire to be like them in all artistic aspirations. back in the days where talent was based upon skill. :)
realcaramae. I understand why. The TV and channels and DVD companies in the UK are run by moronic, immature philistines. Look at the programmes on the BBC, nothing but cooking, quizes, decorating houses, westerns and WW11. The SAME ones repeated endlessly year in year out. The Bismark must have made of cork it has been sunk so many times!
I seen this movie on show time or stars several years ago and found it to day and watched it again .Oh what a beauty she was, the style, the voice, I really have never seen anyone that special again
thur my searches for i have remembered
her beauty for years now, that all was done
without a green screen. And real true dancing, singing, and acting,to who put this on youtube thanks so much for the mememeries Larry
I have the whole movie but it was recorded off the air (TV) onto a DVD by someone on eBay. I was the top bidder for that DVD auction. Since that time, I have been looking for a higher quality commercial DVD of the movie but have not been able to find one yet.
She had such a sweet smile.

Do you have the whole movie? I have not been able to find it on DVD. I am a big Vera Ellen fan.

I truly appreciate this number. Vera-Ellen was gorgeous. And what energy!! BTW, the choreographer was Leonide Massine.
