Gr3gg228, To my knowledge Anthony has not done 'The Prayer' on 'Amercian Idol'. (that would be great exposure if it actually happened). He did this song on Australian Idol in 2004.

I'd really like to get some of his cd's. Great artist. I feel like the melismas were added in good taste and aren't too distracting from the overall style of the song. Great interpretation. Beautiful voice! Never thought I'd enjoy a solo arrangement of this song. I used this version for a American Idol-esque competition my drum corps put on. I didn't do it justice of course, but it won me 3rd place. Though it was probably more for the beauty of the song than my performance. I hope Mr. Callea makes the jump to the States sometime soon. Still gives me goosebumps .Can't be too bad when PAVAROTTI heard him sing he requested Anthony sing at a Gala event held in his honour. Also performed for Queen Elizabeth11 & Princess Mary & Prince Frederick, a special tribute for the Tsunami victims at the 2005 Logie Awards. You don't do these types of performances if you aren't one of the best.
