  • what a f'ing combo!!!! too good for words.

  • 10+ Круто!!! И вечно будет так!

  • this song touched my heart my soul. since my youth.love it still always play it when I feel low.

  • My mother played this song while I was in the womb. I listened to the song all my life. Now that both my parents have passed away this song touches my soul and minds my broken heart.

  • I really think that at 16yrs old... this song was one of the greatest gifts given to me.

I understood it at 20yrs, 30yrs, 40yrs and once again at 50yrs : ))) Stoppin' for the next 9yrs... but when I am 60yrs... it will mean even more... thank-you Joe... x

  • @simonliquify Well said

  • It ended too short... I wanted to hear Rachelle sing longer

  • @MISSJHON The full version which is 8:04 The exact name is “Rachelle Ferrell & George Benson Montreux Jazz Festival”

It features Rachelle Ferrell & George Benson, Toots Thielemans at the Montreux Jazz Festival 1991- Count Basie Orchestra conducted by Quincy Jones

    Enjoy it is a treat

  • SHE IS INCREDIBLE.... IS SHE FOR REAL I AM SURE THAT I'VE NEVER HEARD ANYBODY THAT EVEN COMPARES TO RACHELLE FERRELL--SHE IS THE UNDISPUTED TRUTH

  • God this is good!!!

  • is that's GEORGE BENSON...#dopeinhisownright

  • I wish the younger artist would be her understudy. Like Jennifer H., Beyonce, Mariah...Wow I really struggle to find any main stream artist that can live up to the challenge.

  • She always stills the show. The only person I have seen that can keep up with her is Ledisi and they love each other.

  • Rachelle is awsome, powerful, sensational, beautiful, amazing & angelic. She sings with such grace.

  • @deannagreen29 I second that emotion- her voice is so soothing and healing

  • Fucking Unbelievable....

  • God Bless them , thank youuuuuuuuuuu..

  • @Msredhoney720. it ended like that cause she went OFF and the people wasnt ready for that. lol its a black folk thang. like back in tha day if u playin neighbor hood basketball and someone does an incredible dunk or move and makes the shot... Black People will stop the whole dayum game. I loved those days.lol

  • @sabbathcore now that's giving props! lol "nothing else can be done to beat that"

  • that was George Benson opening the song. How brave, and kind for him to let her sing.

  • The beauty of Rachelle Ferrel is that she knows how to work that voice, regardless of the crazy faces she may make. She's there to sing and I wish other artist took a note from her.,

  • But why did it end like that? At any rate Rachell is the TRUTH!!!!

  • Soul-FULL!!

  • Ha ha, she looks like she is going to eat him. What voice though!

  • who is the keyboard player on the begining of the video, it looks like cedric dent to me (take 6)

  • @nilsong i think it's Greg Phillinganes

  • this was when music was real musicand singers were real singers not just pop idols manufactured

  • not only is that George Benson, that is the legendary Quincy Jones conducting

Rachelle is THE perfect voice!! There are artisits I like more for other reasons but NONE of them are more talented as Rachelle

  • Lawd dat woman was so beautiful, still is, but her she looks so young and beautiful and dat instrument of hers is jus incomparable!

  • QUESTION HOW DO YOU DISLIKE THIS VIDEO. I OUGHT TO SLAP THE 2 PEOPLE THAT DISLIKE THIS VIDEO. I'M JUST SAYING.

  • @Norelleism i know!!!

  • This is Beautiful !!! Brilliantly done ! Awesome ! WOW ! I love her and her voice. Magnificent !!!!!

  • What is wrong with the two nuts that voted "Thumbs Down" this is brilliant!

  • What a combination,love it! So sexy.

  • she is so sexxy to me...... this is a beautiful song

  • LOL!!!!!!!!! The white guy at the end looked as if to say.....AMAZING!

  • Wow..... simply amazing.

  • Wow Rachelle Ferrell is amazing

  • I love this song, but it was too much. It went over the top and distracted from the essence of the song. Like a wailing animal. she is too beautiful a songstress to do that. Beauty is often captured in the small emotive places/spaces.

  • @millerconnors she had a bit of an emotional moment on stage lol

  • I have only one question : why Miss Rachelle doesn't plays with her male version - Bobby McFerrin ? I think then the apocalyptical preddictions well come true :))

  • @morenita2g im watching and love them all. thx

  • insane

  • @morenita2g they would be too confused to even comprehend. basic voices are for basic ppl...lol

  • GEORGE IS THE MAN!!! RACH...IS BEYOND WORLDS!!! CHECK OUT JAMES INGRAM VERSION!!

  • This is an incredible video of Ms. Ferrell. I am 24 years old, a Beyonce, Britney Spears, and Ciara fan and I understand the true meaning of artitsts. I wish my peers knew these legends. Thanks for this footage!

  • Funny problem. The male vocalist sings the song beautifully and tells a story, feels a story. The female vocalist displays artistry and poses extreme expression but what she does is entirely beside the point, it's not a song, it's exprssion without content. Pseudo-expression fireworks, a kick... shallow, and in the end, meaningless.

  • @malibashi UMMMM, YEAH. THANKS.

  • @malibashi and still for some reason I enjoyed her part more than the male's, but some parts could have been sung more "controlled".

  • she sounds like an instrument...I saw her live voice, brilliant

  • I prefer George's version. Rachelle doesn't bring anything to this song. Listen to Oleta Adam's version. It's masterful. Listen to Chaka's version with Mick Hucknall of Simply Red. It's masterful. Rachelle needs to rethink her approach to this song.

  • @chakafan2 You're not serious are you? I think she did bring something to this song. I'm not knocking your favorites

  • @chakafan2 if u dont Rachelle brung anythng to ths song... jst liten to the crowd react!

    the ctowd overulez ur igmorance..

  • @chakafan2 jst heard the chaka khan vesion....... that shit was weak. i like vhaka.. BUT shez alwayz been a horrible live singer to me.

  • I could have thought I was in church when she started to sing. Shes a gospel singer.

  • George Benson is a monster!!! He's a genius of jazz guitar and sing a lot!!

  • Great song.. Haven't heard it in awhile.. Thanks

  • the most powerful and beautiful voice ..ever !!!

  • Bravo, Bravo, but as much as I love Rachelle, I have to give it up for Oleta Adams, her notes run straight through your soul. This is just my opinion!!!

  • @eshamo2006 I love both versions Always remember Rachelle has a richer broader vocal range and she can tone it down or dish it hot she has that power-

  • We all know that Rachell can sing, but on this she sounds absolutely terrible! It's horrible, I had to turn it off. She's really really off key throughout most of it! It seemed like she had allowed the audiences appreciation of her in the beginning to take her out of the moment, and thus began over-singing and using inappropriate runs to the point of inaudible pronunciation. Check out Sarah Vaughan's version or Chaka Khan's with Quincy for much better interpretations.

  • @afrophonic LIEZ she nvr soundz terrible, horrible, bad or evn average..... thatza damn shame. has god struck dwn wth lightening frm lying yet? if not... let me kno, so i'll kno where not to stand. dont wanna b anywhere near u whn that happenz.

  • @RAWKEE Rachelle CAN CAN sing amazingly! I'm not in anyway disputing that! But someone has to be completely TONE DEAF to not be able to hear that she is singing really really flat throughout most of her runs in THIS performance. Sorry to burst you're bubble, but musically, and technically this is true. People are often SO blinded by their love for an artist that it overshadows their judgment and the artist can do NO wrong! So either she's sing Flat in parts...or you're tone deaf. Take your pick!

  • @afrophonic ive heard her sound flat a couple timez.. but it wasnt n ths performance. she was singing "welcome to my love". i liked her tone throughout ths song. it was a lot lighter. a lot of timez whn she singz... she does sound like shez off key n the middle of her notez.. bcz itz incomplete and shez bending it right at that moment. for example.. if she were to stop her notez short.. than yes. u would b right.. cz n the middle of some notez.. itz soundz off key pre-acrobaticz..

  • @afrophonic ..but... if u play the finished and completed notez n the back of ur mind.. itz not off key at all. itz really beautiful.

once she completez her notez... she is an amazing closer!!! her pitchez are so precise. itz like watching a screwball in slow motion. wantz u see the middle of that pitch.. it lookz like itz nowhere n the strike zone.. but once u see the completed pitch from beginning to end.. the direction is right where itz needed to b. no1z perfect, but shez pretty close!

  • @RAWKEE LISTEN TO HER HERE (paste into you tube brower)

Rachelle Ferrell - I can explain (live)

....PURE PERFECTION!! See if you can notice the difference between her pitch in this performance and the one with George Benson. I'm sure when she watches the one with George even she cringes a little! ENJOY

  • Impresionante.....!!! que raro.....que no comenten latinoamericanos.....todos de habla inglesa...

  • @morenita2g ummm... rihanna can sing.

  • @RAWKEE i'm sorry... but save it.

  • @mefilmmaking she can sing. shez not a "wower" but she can sing. yamean? im not impressed wth her voice, but to say that she can not sing is a lie.

no... she doesnt sing from the heart or wth patient, but to say she can not sing bcz of it is a lie. "Unfaithful".

  • Comment removed

  • @mefilmmaking i feel u, but thatz the problem wth the young singerz of today. they lack the passion to sing. all they care about is fame and money. rachelle does it for the love of singng and music. thatz y i love and appreciate her so much asan artist. she getz so much respect from me.

  • musique : Bernard Ighner

  • I would kick in (another) paycheck to see her do this song!!!

This lady sang "Jesus loves me this I know" in boston last year and I was the first (but not the last) one up on my toes.

  • ________________________ ***flatline****

  • stop it! george benson & rachelle ferrell! come on! yessir!

  • @morenita2g If they did they still won't get it... You either have it or you don't and clearly Rachelle is Saturated with IT!.....I Love this womans voice....

  • When was this recorded?

  • My god she can sing!!

  • You can drive an eighteen wheeler down her throat,,,but the vocals are one of a kind!

  • Ok so finally got to see the ending on another post George Benson and Rachelle Ferrell at the Montreux Jazz Festival, posted right here. Check it out Awesome + 10

  • Wonderful

  • That band can't hang with her.

  • can I but this track anywhere so I can play it in my car?? please help.

  • what happened to the ending?

  • She spent all her energy ^^

  • I listen to this over and over and I ask myself the same question. but hey if they liked it, I love it

  • i love her face at 2:47 !

  • I'm sorry, did someone sing before Rachelle?

  • @funnyactin LOL

  • @bonefidefool yeah..she served him like John McEnroe

  • @funnyactin - right!

  • @funnyactin yes that is the legendary Mr. George Benson...but yeah...im on like my 6th time rewindin Rachelle's part! man they should rode this song out for a couple mo ticks...i been hittin my hand and rockin from side to side...i feel on the 10th or 11th time ima break down cryin. DAMN! one of the greatest voices of this or any time.

  • @funnyactin I feel you on that one.

  • @funnyactin lol

  • @funnyactin lol they just packed it up huh!? lol Rachelle will do that to ya.

  • @funnyactin LMAOOOO

  • @funnyactin

    George Benson

  • @funnyactin She gets on my nerves with this one trick that she feels is the only thing she "must" do: Yodeling. She has a great vocal ability that is lost in over performance and using the one and only trick, "Yodeling." I stopped listening to her a long time ago because of this and, oh, my heavens, the over presentation and the facial distortions. Those who are poorly trained vocally used to do this in the church choirs, much to the chagrin of seasoned performers.

  • @ladyg0726 It is sad that you cannot sit back and enjoy an incredible talent. She is not poorly trained this is her style she is a jazz artist who can do incredible vocal feats, yodeling, scatting etc. I am vocally trained and we know -like Al Jarreau who also does facial distortions that this has nothing to do with vocal ability but an innate expression of a deeply stirring soul.

  • @tefnutbellsouthnet I am not sad at all. I can most definitely recognize vocal talent. I feel that she is too talented to use the one trick. Luther had his trick of shimmying and saying wooooo. Mariah does the doe eyes. The list goes on and on. Each performer has her own gimmick, some call it a style. This is not a style. It is simply what she is known for, as well as the facial distortions, as she learned it moved audience. She doesn't have to go to such extremes her voice is movement enough.

  • @tefnutbellsouthnet It is not always an innate expression of a deeply stirring soul, but for some it is like rousing one's congregation. It is meant to stir up one's audience. Vocal greats don't have to do this, but many do.

  • @ladyg0726 Rachelle is not to be compared to the classically trained singers, she is not a Leontyne, however, I am sure that Leontyne loved Rachelle. If you stopped listening to her why are you still commenting on this page? PS you are quite silly, in the church they are not vocally trained - that is Natural Creator blessed talent. May you learn to share your inner peace- be blessed

  • @tefnutbellsouthnet It is you that is Quite Silly. Those in church are most definitely trained. Any vocal talent that anyone has is indeed God given, but the development of that talent is (at least in the Church) further developed and honed. Many learn habits, both good and bad. One habit that many vocal coaches have to wrestle with is the feigned vocal vibration that one sees when a performer thinks he needs to engage his audience by moving his mouth and head as if the voice is vibrating.

  • @tefnutbellsouthnet As and for having inner peace, I am at peace with expressing an honest opinion. I was heavily into Ms. Ferrelle, but being one that needs growth, I tire of gimmicks. I met Leontyne and could appreciate her, but wouldn't go out of my way to listen exclusively to her. I hope that you learn inner peace with calling others silly for expressing opinions contrary to your own--that speaks to silliness. Blessings.

  • @ladyg0726 you have no idea what your talking about. if you stopped listening to her why are you commenting? she has amazing talent.

  • @DBuggs78 I am commenting because a friend sent me her video. Yes, she is extremely talented, but for my own reasons, not yours or anyone else's "I" stopped listening to her. Blessings.

  • @funnyactin

Miss Randy Crawford did the definitive version of this. [IMHO]

  • OH Music the way it should be.. I Love Rachelle Farelle... What an Instrument of power and soul.. what an inspiration.

  • she is not even singing in her most comfortable key and she is just chopping up that song, listen to the people shout, no one shouted for george, wasnt a second before she opened her mouth the crowd went mad, the woman with the instrument in her mouth, that is what she should name her next album

  • she is going to blow that song right out of the water after he shuts up, she carries an instrument in her mouth. Okay George, please let her sing, please

  • Amazing. Toots and George were just awestruck - as am I.

  • ok,, this is now what i have to consider the best version of this song.. it was much to short.

  • LOL...she did steal the show !

  • uf... me hiela la sangre

  • That's The Basie Band backing them up!

  • @jazzbone9 they did a good job keeping up with them!

  • everything must change. thats the world at large. music in particular isnt what it used to be. we all know this. jazz. the contemporary in it has no traces of what it used to be. r&b is now pop. rap is now stripper music. rachelle has no audience at large. just people like us that still like vocals. oh well.

  • I've never heard something like that, I mean seriously! She, with her harrowing interpretation of this song, has blown away every trace of George Benson from the stage. AMAZING!

  • I love Rachelle but if you listen to her pitching on this it isn't as on the money as we know she can be. GB on the other hand is right on. He is just singing with great feeling, no pyrotechnics.

  • @xantone you're right, but I gorgave her for that because the singing struck my spirit, ya know! I think he played it a little safe. I did like it though.

  • I can watch this over and over!!! I hope she comes out with another R&B cd

  • Yes She Did!

  • rachelle sang that SH** out of her part I mean how can you sing after she just laid it out on the floor and that is just half of what she can do with her voice!!! She cant sing anything from jazz to R&B and whatever is inbetween!! Love you Rachelle

  • Uh, SHE SHUT THE HOUSE DOWN. I would be scared to sing on stage after Rachelle, because I would pale in comparison.

  • you know your baddd when you sang with braces and hit every note with feeling

  • Quincy jones Is a composer of this song?

  • Bernard Ighner is the composer. It's on Quincy Jones' album, Body Heat. Quincy and Bernard had several singers audition for the lead. Bernard got up and sung it for one of the vocalists and Quincy immediately decided to use him as the lead. The rest is history.

  • pretty please post the rest of the video:D

  • My hometown girl...her voice gives me goosebumps!!!

  • Joe, Brian Mcknight ,Beyonce' and Deborah Cox need to watch this and take good notes about sounding good in a live performance. George and Rachelle had done a great job on this clip.

  • Nice George Benson part, Rachelle sanged this one, with everything and with every expression in her being. Love them both here! Great post!

  • what a voice! She does whatever she wants with.George Benson excellent too.Thank you for posting it.

  • WOW!!!

  • full version is on imeem.. Thank you for uploading this. Loved it.

  • Thank you so much for your help.

  • Thats a young Rachelle. She hadn't even come into her own yet. I would say she was born to sang.

  • Rachelle : Marry me !

  • rachelle marry me!!!

  • WTH....why did they stop the song! WTH!

  • George Benson and Rachelle Ferrell...what a duet!!! Rachelle gonna kill somebody with that voice!!!

  • I don't know you guys, this one felt a little off to me. Wasn't feeling the pitch she used for the flow of the song, but I still enjoyed it overall. Love Rachelle, she works it out everytime!!!

  • Great tune. Muey bien. Gracias

  • LAWD HAVE MERCY!!!

  • best on youtube

  • I like the version on one of Quincy Jones' more recent albums best, don't remember who sang it, but that guy had a rather deep voice which fitted much better to the melancholy.

  • Mi Dios,Amo a esta mujer, hermoso color de voz, increible interpretaciòn.

  • Damn, Rachelle is a beast!

I want to see Rachelle live.

  • you're welcome! ciao!

  • you know what, everytime I see Rachelle I am done, cooked, finished, completed....this performance is actually much longer than this.....there is the part where she follows Mr. Benson like a damn hummingbird hitting her whistle notes and just goes completly off....love it would love to see more, thank you!

  • dido! Can someone please find the rest of this video!!!

  • It's called: everything must change... What a great video! Thank you for posting it!!!

  • Gracias por la corrección.

  • Rachelle - always magic!

  • rachelle went off on the little solo part she had I mean let's be honest you could never expect any less from her

  • Rachelle Ferrell is amazing as always!
