In all fairness, though, people should realize that a financial reform bill WAS passed on July 16, 2010, after the film's release, and that it did include provisions for a systemic risk regulator (the Financial Stability Oversight Council), a new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and increased capital requirements for the banks. Not bad considering that the 2009 stimulus and health reform were also passed in the preceding months.

I have been so disappointed by Obama. It sems that all the promise and hope of a new paradigm that included justice and accountability for all, was just a con. Water was needed to put out the fires of rage, fuelled by the lies and deceit of the Bush regime and he was that water. Water is all he is though. Nothing has changed. The American republic has been subverted, it's democracy only an illusion and the same greed and lust for power still reigns. It saddens me.

@OCENAS75 It's true that the world economy has been destabilized by ruthless, greedy Americans, but I take issue with the assertion that they are a "majority of its citizens"; they are just a very powerful minority, insulated from the rest of us. Although I share some of your disappointment with Obama, I still would have voted for him, given the alternative. Please try not to blame individual Americans for what's really a systemic pathology.

For example, Scientist find out about Afghanistan's rich land (Natural Resources) and know that to take out there government and the indigenous population so American corporations can take control of every aspect of the people and the natural resources. The globalization factor motivated the national banks to do the same. Ex-CEO of a major portuguese bank "BCP" resigned and took with him 24M€; some other took some too. This was well prepared since the beginning. They needed time, money and power - it was alrdy on the vry edge. It was these ppl goal in life.

I'm looking forward to seeing this film. In all fairness, though, people should realize that a financial reform bill WAS passed on July 16, 2010, after the film's release, and that it did include provisions for a systemic risk regulator (the Financial Stability Oversight Council), a new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and increased capital requirements for the banks. Not bad considering that the 2009 stimulus and health reform were also passed in the preceding months.
