I'm very much in favor of space exploration and other scientific and technological projects. We need to spend more money on scientific research. This is a far better way to spend tax money than all those stupid social and humanitarian causes. Those things are a total waste of money. Why help poor people? They aren't good for anything and the earth is very overcrowded. If you help poor people, you just have more poor people and more overcrowding on earth and more pollution!

pretty insane. the 2 rovers that landed on mars only should have worked for 3 months. but they are alrdy driving happy around mars for 5 years!(ok from 1 of the 2 the right front wheel is dead and the other is just driving but they stil work and of both the solarpanels are dirty and get less power(they just wont last much longer))

It still shocks me that NASA didn't add a brush of some sort to clean the solar panels on a limited or emergency basis. Although it is amazing what those two small rovers have accomplished to date.

Oh im sure they had that...just it happened to get lost when they were packing it in the nosecone of the rocket. Haha. A ploy to have more reasons to build and send more robots? technology does increase dramastically in a 3 month period :D

That is understandable. I can not answer that for myself...althouth the reason I believe it was not done was because they want to send more advanced, more technological rovers to Mars in the future, and so they made sure that this one would fail after a time so that the government would continue funding for new rovers and not say that the only ones are fine because they still work. :)
