  • Daltrey must be high as fuck feelin those vibes.

  • name and number mcvicar.

  • Damn, Dave has played with the Who and Zeppelin.

  • Damn. THIS is pure, 100 proof, rock and roll!

just an aside, but does anyone else out there think that, if Pete and Roger can be put in the same room again to record, Dave Grohl ought to be behind the drums for at least one song?

No disrespect to Zak Starkey - he's a great drummer - but Grohl's got that animal, "take no prisoners" attitude behind the skins that makes me want to hear how he'd make Pete and Roger sound.

  • i love how theres roger and nate rocking out and thens theres dave in between them fucking shit up

  • Dave Grohl is lucky, HE MET A ROCK GOD LIKE ROGER DALTREY.

  • Grohl is one lucky mofo to get to share and play music with the great legends of Rock n Roll! Daltrey, Taylor, May, Lemmy, John Paul Jones, Page, Alice Cooper, Tenacious D, QOTSA, Nirvana, Germs & many more!!!...Rock on Dave!! \m/

  • Bet you most people there wouldn't even realize how lucky they are to be able to see this kind of show with the singer from The Who performing for them.

  • @KidsWithGuns1992 hahaha yes!

  • @Jaysin13 Of course no one wouldn't mind to see Grohl drumming on this song... He's a beast because of the influence of Bonham and Moon ;)! Totally agree with ya!

  • @hntngbears Bonham influence ofcourse, but Moon? Never heard that

  • @LedSandman It was only my opinion, cause I never heard Grohl about Moon's influence, I'm just only comparing the way of drumming...

  • I wuold not mind seeing Dave Grohl doing the drumming on this song.

  • guys, go watch the who perform this, keith moons drumming makes this song, without moon drumming, the song is crap

  • @jaqua524 Moon is the king of all drummers and always will be, but Taylor Hawkins is a great fucking drummer and he does a fine job on this song. Don't disrespect that, buddy.

  • @Jag117 im not...its just his drumming doesnt do the song justice :)

  • @Jag117 I like Hawkins. But does anyone agree he is the SECOND best drummer in FF?

  • is it normal to get horny because of this...?

  • Roger is a tad bit old for this song, you think?

  • @erock195: Oh yeah. When he first sang it, *he* was the young man who ain't got nothin' in the world. Now he's the old man, with all the money. Still sounds pretty good though.

Back in the day, he was always ready for a fight though he's reportedly mellowed a bit. In 2002 he had to be restrained from going into the audience to punch out someone who threw a bottle at him. Unfortunately that vid has vanished from YT.

  • @YouzTube99 Saw that video before it was pulled. Don't mess with Roger! I'm sure he could still drop the whole My Chemical Romance band at once.

  • @ttraynor1 LOL!!

He reportedly decked Townshend a couple times during arguments in the old days. In a relatively recent interview Pete recalled that when they first met he considered Rog "a yob, a thug". No question that a part of him is still a street fightin' man!

  • this performance just shows how valuable keith moon was..man, the drummer for the foo fighters..doesnt even hold a candle to keith moon..not even close..this just sounds bad without moons drumming...good for them tho

  • great stuff!!

  • You'd never see Pete Townsend playing with his hair like that., LAME. Dave Grohl fits right in with Jimmy Page. They're both sloppy guitar players doing cover songs and getting way too much money for it. Mad props to Roger though...

  • @electricvideoperson nicely said, this sounds crap compared to the who, like a second rate stodgey rock covers band

  • @electricvideoperson another bitter people who claims he knows about music!

  • @danielhl22 I think you mean to say "bitter person". I ,being a singular entity, am not a "people". I can really feel the intelligence in this conversation. Wow...I'm just floored.

  • @electricvideoperson sorry , bitter person then , thanks for helping me to improve my english :P

  • Roger just gives it his all! He ain't afraid to hit those notes! It's too bad he doesn't have Pete here and has to contend with this wanker instead! Pete may be an old codger these days but he could still wipe the floor with Dave! Just you wait poster boy Dave will be doing piano bar versions of 90's hits in Vegas in a couple of years! Foo on you Dave!

  • You can critique however you want on Taylor. But the man is on fucking time and on fucking POINT.

  • WTF do we call this band? The Foo? The Who?, The F'Who? Oh wait, I know, GOD!

  • the only person to come out of this with any credit is Rog.

  • young man cruz

  • Put your flipping iPhones away.

This video isn't a particularly bad example, but Is there anything more annoying than a crowd full of people with their phones out? There is something ridiculous about paying to see a band and then watching whole songs through your tiny phone screen.

Rant over. Young Man Blues is ace. The Who's version is a classic! Dave Grohl headbangs like a champ.

    J

  • @joecritch If someone hadn't put their iPhone or camera or whatever away you wouldn't be watching this video.

  • @Jag117 Obviously & I'm grateful 'cause I wasn't able to be there myself. 'Annoying' was the wrong word. I'm just saying it's WEIRD (in a strangely considerate sort of way...) that people who do pay for tickets then spend the whole concert viewing it on their phones so they can share it later with people who didn't pay. I mean it's different to sharing other stuff, like MP3s isn't it? Because when you film something on your phone it affects your original experience in a negative way.

  • @joecritch You wouldn't be getting to watch this video if someone hadn't taken their iPhone or whatever out and filmed it for you, genius.

  • no young folk can touch this Roger's talent! TY for posting this!

  • no young folk can touch this Roger's talent!

  • hell yah! Daltry is still one of the most iconic rock vocalists...

  • Foo are you Foo Foo

  • Crazy good'

  • Hugh Fitzcairn FTW!

  • Dave Grohl, bringing it all back home.

  • WHO loves You Dave? Ah! no more like nobody doesn't like Dave Grohl/ The Foo FIGHTERS!

  • I'm sure someone must be able to do something to improve the sound quality of this clip.

  • That's what he gets for being teh nicest man in rock :)

  • Dave is great! Something else to add to my Easter basket!

  • This song has been in the FF repertoire for a couple of years now .... The played this song at the 'VH1 Rock Honors The Who' show two years ago (go ahead .. look it up : It's here on YT) ..... Dave sings it with gusto, and the band plays certain elements of the Who's 'Live at Leeds' version .... VERY cool to play it with Daltry ...

  • Foo Fighters: The last epic rock show. It's not about brutality, it's not about image, it's not about being cool, it's not about looking like a scene kid, and it's not about being the sexiest floozy around. It's about guitars, drums, bass, and rock and fucking roll.

  • @TheSuese You forgot about RUSH.

  • @TheSuese actually..I saw ZZ Top a few weeks ago, better than anyother modern band ive seen, including the foo fighters (no offense)...but they rocked, musicians back then were just much more talented..its sad :(

  • @TheSuese terrible live band to boot!

  • @TheSuese Your message describes exactly what I think about the Foo!! Raw f*** rock band!!

  • Nice tribute to the Who, even has one of the old codgers in on it. Always love this song, especially the "Live aat Leeds" version.

  • incredible that i must be glad to facebook ('cause are friends) for watching this videos :)

  • dave is the funckin man...foos are one of the last remaining real bands around

  • This made my Easter.

  • 2 heroes of music together!

  • Like this if Foo Fighter's Facebook Page sent you here :)

  • Thank you so much for sharing this! Very few bands can match The Who, but The Foo Fighters certainly have the balls and the guts and the chops to do it!

  • Dave Grohl is after all a fucking GODLIKE GENIUS!!!!

  • @AmericanZero13 it's not all luck. In my mind, he's a member of that rock god pantheon as well

  • @CheeseMclevitz

    I agree...Dave himself is a rock legend

  • Who the hell are the two dinks that disliked this? And why? Roger was influenced by American music particularly Elvis & Chicago Blues. Bands today now, more than ever over the past 10-15 years have actually had the ball to play Who tunes in their sets and Rog & Pete have embraced their positions as pioneers to the GENERATION. It's music for the ages for all ages...

    LONG LIVE ROCK!

  • Nate is a little lost at 4:09 XD

  • well... I never thought I would see this, and I never thought it would sound so good. Mr Daltrey sounds more fired up than I've heard in a long time, and looks great... No one in the music industry deserves a godlike genius award more than Mr Grohl, these two men are proof you don't have to burn out by the time your 30.

  • YES he is that good or they wouldn't want him

  • lol look how high the microphone stand is and roger struggles to put the mic in

    1:56 onwards

  • It's over 9000!

  • It just makes my heart explode!

  • this was fucking insane! I literally could not believe my eyes when I witnessed this!

  • Lol. Roger is sounding more and more like a black man every year now.

  • Lourdingue et sans imagination...

Dave Grohl est un bien piètre guitariste.

N'est pas Pete Townshend qui veut.

  • I wanted to like this, but the Foo Fighters kind of stink it up. Meh.

  • @TheCactusjack1 right on man!

  • How lucky is Dave Grohl? Able to play with John Paul Jones, Lemmy, Roger Daltrey, Paul McCartney all within the past year!
