  • I have always disliked Jekyll and Hyde and Frank Wildhorn in general but this song was stunning and Linda Eder is an amazing performer and very underrated.

  • o. .mm gg her voice is amamzing

  • How did someone beat her on Star Search?

  • @N0vakDj No one did, she was the first female vocalist to win all 12 weeks.

  • Such an amazing and powerful song!! No one can sing this better than Linda Eder and this performance gave me goosebumps!! What A Voice!!!

  • Listened to Barbra Strasand growing up. Great voice.

  • @browndog461 There are similarities arnt there ?

  • I saw Linda 2010 in Vienna "Wildhorn and Friends"! She was fantastic!

  • this is the best i had this song OMG i love this!!!

  • I saw Linda Eder perform in the Jekyll & Hyde production, when living in the 90's in Colorado, she brought the house down. As fabulous in person as she is listening to her recordings.

  • i really love this song :))

  • i am singing this song for my voice resital, i am suddenly very intiminated!!!!!!

  • @BJuliannaB

    same here

  • her voice is rather swallowed for my tastes

  • I saw her perfornm this on Broadway and also with the Charlotte Symphony. Great both times.

  • If you played the CD's verison right after this I'm pretty sure people wouldve enjoyed the live version alot better. Thats how freaking good that just was!

  • Just randomly picked this song today for a jazz and broadway music recital in a few weeks, and I'm blown away. I couldn't've made a better choice. <3

  • Perfection!

  • DAYYYYYYYYYYYYUM.

  • @herter52 I sure hope there is a revival! I'm kind of looking forward to the movie, but at the same time not because I don't think a movie cast could live up to the performances of Andrew Warlow and/or Robert Cuccioli. What say you?

  • Magical and powerful performance!

Linda Eder is one of the best singers.

  • If someone like you loved me......is what I really long for now..

    Thank you Linda!!!!

  • Phenonmenal video. There must be a huge amount of Jekkyl fans out there for all these hits years after the musical ended. I never felt that it was produced well in the NYC version. The original version in Houston in the early days is THE BEST! Linda had a great concept album with Colm and of course the wonderful Andrew Warlow. One of these should have been the co-star with a better Producer like Hal Prince or Cameron Macintosh. I am optimistic for a revival.

    .

  • please stop comparing colleen to linda its like comparing the beatles to the backstreet boys

  • there is a god

  • Holy Crap! Is Linda Eder amazing or what??? and gorgeous too - J&H best musical of all time....how can there possibly be 14 dislikes - are people kidding me?

  • @ginapleeds I hear you. I can understand that we all have different taste, so I can "see" someone saying "it is not my thing" but I CAN'T get saying it is not good--that is a fool speaking. She can sing, whether someone likes it, or not. For me, I both like it--a whole lot and KNOW it is really good.

  • @ginapleeds Honestly, I think it is just people taking a "free shot"; you know, when someone is good, it is easy to hide at home and type in stupid things. As you say, 14, what a joke. It really is fine to have one's own taste, and not go for her--though I can't imagine it for me--but to say it is bad is a stupid person talking.

  • I prefer Colleen Sexton's voice but Linda looks more raw kind of like Dulcinea From The Man Of La Mancha. which makes this song more meaningful in a way.

  • wowwwww!

  • her voice is so pure ;-;

  • she's good.. but she sings like Barbra Streisand... she does not sound original to me.

  • @jpdeepscore I was thinking the same thing! She sounds so similar to Barbra.....it's kinda crazy..I mean you can tell the difference but she is close!

  • @thoreaux1967 I hear that. Hey, everyone has a right to their taste, but how can you not AT LEAST see how good this really is---what a voice.

  • Dream of tomorrow...the past is holding me...wanting to fly...scared to try...

but if someone like you found someone like me...nothing would ever be the same...

  • One of my favorites of hers! She is amazing in this song.

I love this so much... and I sing it, too...

  • Really nice voice.

  • OMG!! Awesome!!!!!!

  • At last..

I now know what others have meant my whole life when they say:

    "I found true love!"

Because I too have found it ;-)

  • I guess Regine Velasquez and Martin Nievera gave more dynamic and heart to broadway music like this one in their concert together. They made it sound pop but still sound great!

Check out Martin Nievera and Regine Velasquez- Broadway Musical Medley

  • @napazu Those two ARE great, I checked it out. BUT, no, not "more dynamic and heart", that's not fair.

  • @napazu I watched Martin and Regine, they were great no doubt. BUT, "more dynamic and heart" is not right. This version is also great, one not better than the other, one not "more dynamic and heart" is just not right. You can't beat this version in my opinion

  • I forgot how beautiful this song was. I met Linda Eder in the 90's when she did "Jekyll and Hyde" in Houston. She was so nice giving autographs and pictures. I just got a brand new camera and couldn't get it to work. She was so kind enough to pose again for a picture. One of my favorite musicals in the world. Linda is beautiful person inside and out! My friend is singing this song at my wedding next month. I'm so excited now!

  • *SIgh* I love this song

  • good microphone skills.. :D

  • 11 people are stupid. i <3 her shes fabulous

  • It always amazes me how incredible vocal talent utterly enhances a woman's already-impressive physical beauty. She's a knockout, based on looks alone. Add that incredible voice, and I'm ready to lay down my life for her.

  • what a great song.

  • @chonaV You're obviously just an uneducated critic. Listen carefully then try doing it yourself. Can't, can you?

  • my women's choir is singing this, when we got the sheet I screamed "OMG! JEYEKLL AND HYDE!! YAY!" My teacher looked at me and laughed and I laughed and said "I love that musical"

  • crap...

  • OH my God this was amazing. What a singer, and what a song!

  • One of the most beautiful and UNDERrated singers of our time!

  • Her voice is amazing, but it just doesn't possess the emotional power that Coleen Sexton has. I think it may be that she's performing on a talk show here.

  • wow i love this song!

  • my school's women's choir is singing this. I love this song XD

  • I really love this song....

  • Geez, that piano player doesn't have a clue what they're doing.

  • @MadamSneff ...yup...either he sped up or she slowed down! must not have had alot of rehearsal time

  • I love her! Best voice!

  • This is the moment I fell in love with LINDA EDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Rosie!!

  • What an angelic voice! WOW!

  • I was so right when I heard Linda for the very first time on the talent show, I knew that she was a stand out and she has proved me right! She has a bell tone and wonderful range. She is beautiful and strikes a lovely presence on stage. I'm thrilled that she is doing so well. Love her voice. She's very special!

  • As a singer this is a woman who I aspire to be like her voice is soooo amazing and her range is awesome. xxx

  • I'm speechless, best rendition I've every heard!

  • Her heavy breathing is quite distracting.

  • I luv this song!!!<3 does anyone have the sheet music if so please let me know

  • Best Voice and singer ever!!!

  • WHAT A VOICE !!!! wonderful.... thanks for posting this

  • IS THIS VOCAL PERFECTION OR WHAT?!?

  • This woman is the most incredible singer. She not only sings like a bird, but she sings through her heart.

  • AMAZING... Linda has a voice that gives me chills!

  • fave version

  • OUTRAGEOUS

  • OUTRAGEOUS!! What a voice and what style. She is the best.

  • always makes me cry!!!!!

  • She is so amazing!! I've seen her 3 times. It's been five years since the last, and cannot believe she is coming to my hometown in July... and I'll be in the front seating.. I am so blessed and CANNOT wait!! : )

  • at first i thought it was barbra streisand singing LOL

    very impressive

  • I had the pleasure of meeting her in Houston once, after she had just given a concert with the Houston Symphony, that would have been about in 1999 to 2001 time frame.

  • love how she controls her vocals so well! absolutely beautiful. She is wonderful.

  • Wow!!!

  • ah it just looks so effortless for her.

  • i love this song ...

  • I have been a huge fan of Linda Eder for years. Her voice is beautiful!

  • Im Tearing up just listening to her with my eyes closed.. absolutely NO comparison. a flawless performance.

  • no comparison. PERIOD

  • I love the power she puts behind her voice. And, she doesn't just sing it, she acts it. There's real feeling behind the the song that makes it even more beautiful. It's a gorgeous song by itself, and when she sings it it is indescribable.

  • such a beautiful song...

  • Linda's voice is absolutely gorgeous, and much better than Barbra's. She was amazing in Jekyll and Hyde.

  • I know she is very old school and I think an aquired taste, however her storytelling and lyrical interpretation take some beating plus her placement is amazing.

  • similar to Barbra, but not Barbra.

  • so similar to streisand

  • she sings pretty good but i've heard this kind of voice and singing technique from Barbara Streisand. I'm hoping for some originality or maybe it just so happened they sang and sounded the same.

  • the one and only! Amazing.

  • Linda appeared, last night, in Raleigh, NC at a taping of Clay Aiken's PBS Special (to be aired in early summer) to do a gorgeous duet with Clay of 'Crying' (Roy Orbison song)!!! They were fantastic together.

  • Beautiful voice. My grandmother loved this when she was alive. Thinking of you, grandma!

  • simply perfection!

  • it melt me ........ so tender

  • Comment removed

  • THATS WHAT IM TALKING ABOUT!!!

    This is so beautiful!!!

I wish new age music had talent and feeling like this!!

  • She is married to the composer of Jekyll and Hyde.

  • I still remember her on Star Search when I was only 12 years old. She is, indeed a superb talent! only few filipino knows her, but I'm happy to know someone like Linda Eder. I love you Linda from the Philippines!

  • @papabhoy412 Lea Salonga isn't half bad either

  • omg!she has such a beautiful voice!i hav this song for nyssma and i,luv it

  • Gorgeous voice!

  • She has one of the most amazing voices!

  • She is incredible; I've seen her two times and was supposed to see her again tonight in south jersey. Luckily, she decided to cancel the show due to the snow storm but she was gracious enough to reschedule the concert sometime in January.

  • she beated..britney and christina in star search

  • @TheMangolatino Beated? I'm guessing you live in Europe, yes?

  • @TheMangolatino

ok beated? beat dear. but yes she did

  • @LukeWittz im colombian i speak four languages and im 15.. next time, call me when you manage more than one language.

  • I wish I had such a gorgeous, God given voice. *sigh* So gorgeous Ms. Eder

  • I still love you, Abigail.

    -John

  • Hope Linda performs at the Cinegrill again soon???

  • Just amazing.. She has impeccable control over her voice; she makes you want to keep listening to the rest of the song! Haha... Such an inspiring performance!

  • I didn't like thi song to begin with but when it got higher she sounded really lovely. She has a beautiful voice.

  • Always Linda's fan since her winning days on Star Search.

  • @ABOSS302 me tooooo!!!!

  • Personally, nobody could sing this song better. However, that's to be expected because the guy who wrote the music for Jekyll & Hyde, wrote the songs that Lucy sings, for Linda.

  • i love it...

  • I love you, Abigail.

    -John

  • this woman is too good. people shouldn't be that good, it's not natural

  • i agree.

    haha but not really

i'm just really really really really really jealous.

  • great voice

  • I love this song and have to say this is a decent performance. There's an amazing new musical called Witchfinder on youtube which is in a similar style to this Frank Wildhorn stuff. worth checking out if you love musicals!

  • Saw her in J&H 12 years ago and have been a huge fan ever since. Great voice.

  • Absolutely breathtaking singing :]

  • I posted a video response of me singing "This is the Moment" from Jekyll and Hyde. I hope everyone will check it out!

    - Andrew :D

  • Best thing ever!

  • Wow.........goosebumps. Love her.

  • wow!

  • Refer anyone to 2:58 onwards in this video for some real singing. Like LuigiNeg said, it takes someone who has studied this stuff to appreciate the real value of it.

  • I get her and Lara Fabian mixed up...

  • it takes a true musician to appreciate greatness...linda eder is one of the greats....to compare her to someone else is ridiculous...barbara striesand is wonderful leave it at that....appreciate ones talent without putting them down....

  • Great voice! Love her!!!

  • wow, she just has a way of captivating her audience. amazing. and she sings each song with so much emotion.

  • Jeez, people, remember Rosie use to film her talk show at 7am, not even Barbra Streisand would be able to hit pitch perfect notes at that time of morning. Poor Linda probably had to get up at 3 or 4 am in the morning just to have enough time to warm-up her vocal chords just to give this performance...and, by the way, I think it was Brilliant for a 7 or 8 am performance...

  • i love this song

  • hmmm she's struggling more than usual on this one pitchwise and i'm a huge linda fan

  • She is amazing!!! one of the all-time greats!!! In reference to the beginning of the song- nerves, unfamiliar sound system, just not quite warmed up-- who knows.

BEAUTIFUL. Listen to her sing "Gold" or "Vienna"!!! Makes me cry!!!!!

  • A beautiful song sung really well. Love it!

  • i think she sings this song well but maybe needed to tone ddown on the beltyness of it?

yes i did just make up that word

  • MissAsh, you can't have a broadway ballad without some belting in it. It's pretty much required nowadays.

  • Goose bumps.

    she is amazing.

Definitely my new role model :)

  • amazing

  • magnificent voice. magnificent song. literally written FOR her. 'nuff said.

  • bravo. bravo . haronsidi you tube

  • love her voice!!! she does sound like barbara streisand. no comparison to lea's rendition. linda is unique in her own ways.

  • Some of her delivery and tone reminds me a lot of Barbara Steisand (sp.) Weird...

  • when she was young i heard that she tried to imitate barbra! thats probably why :)

  • She isn't using correct breathing, you can hear a sharp intake of breath everytime she starts a new line.

  • To me it doesn't matter WHEN she breathes. All I know is that she can HOLD notes forever with that kind of breath and with a power and strength that blows your hair off !!! Just listen to " Don't rain on my parade" , " Man of LaMancha", " Let him fly", " By myself" and " I am what I am" !!! Incredible !

  • It actually really does matter where you breathe... if she isn't doing correct phrasing she can really ruin the song and miss notes/not hold them/not belt them properly etc.

I dunno.. seemed like kind of a sloppy performance to me.

  • wildfiretgh - thanks for your comment. All I said was that it doesn't matter TO ME, as I enjoy all of Linda's interpretations. May I ask if you have seen or heard any of her music other than THIS video ? :-) As I said in an earlier comment - I also find that this one is not the best version of her singing this song ! iAurelius has a better one - search for the name and you'll find a great performance of that song with her and her ( then ) husband on the piano !

  • Oh shut up! If I could breathe through my bottom, and sing half as well then I would!

But hey-you like to come and criticise to make yourself look good..? Fail!!!!

  • im sorry there curlin...your observations are in correct...breathing in singing is like a swing in golf or a baseball swing...you take the club back and excellerate forward. You would not stop during your downswing...and you certainly dont stop breathe before you start to sing. Singing 101.

  • amazing voice, its conveys so much emotion! it knocks you over. and yet, not the best actress, its her voice that brings the emotion

  • I saw her in Cats it was truly amazing, beautiful and powerful voice, unforgettable!!!

  • When have you seen her in CATS ? As far as I know she only appeared onstage in JEKYLL&HYDE and CAMILLE CLAUDEL !

  • umm... i really dont think shes that great... she cant hit the the low notes and her pitch is REALLY off in the beginning...

  • Maybe THIS wasn't the greatest version ! There is a better one on YouTube by iAurelius !

Maybe she just had a bad day! She's known for usually being dead on !!

  • amazing!! she just sings with so much passion! like she's meaning every word she's singing!!!

  • I love this song and I love her singing it. It makes me cry every time I have a listen. Wish I was her...

  • Love her! Thanks for posting, bdtb!

  • I was so young when I saw her the first time on Star Seach! I knew then that she'll be a hug star!!!
