It bothers me a great deal that they never mentioned all the successful Liberal shows, that aren't on Air America.

Namely Thom Hartmann, Randi Rhodes, Ed Schultz, Stephanie Miller and Bill Press.

The truth is most of the progressive stations were almost unaffected. Most of their programming comes from places like Dial Global or (Rush's own) Premier Radio Networks.

The thing to remember is that Air America was little more then a syndication company. They didn't actually own the radio stations.

Progress Talk is still alive and well, and there is no shortage of Liberal shows from other companies (including Premier who also Syndicates Rush).

AA tried to be Liberal 24/7 where other networks are just trying to make money. Shows like Thom Hartman's and Randi Rhodes' are able to be profitable.

If there was only one station then shouldn't have the market of liberal talk cornered? Its kind of laughable to say that Conservatives are herded like sheep when you have so many Conservative/Libertarian/Indep­endent news outlets to choose from. If you don't like Hannity or Limbaugh there is Beck, Jones, Savage, Dobbs the list goes on. Even more interesting is that alot of them are carried on different stations and none of whom seems to like the other. They each command an audience of millions.

Sadly, you're right. Money buys influence. The unlimited influx of money, just like a corporate media outlet, are the ones who manipulate the bulk of public opinion. Because most people are more content with having their opinions spoon fed to them through some political hack with an agenda on a primetime editorial program.

I don't know forloveoffilm. Ron Paul has no clout in Washington. Most Americans are still trapped in the left/right paradigm. However, the freedom movement is growing and it is leaderless for the most part, full of independent thinkers. I think the U.S. Constitution is leading it.

Sorry, but herding libertarians is like herding cats. If they like you, they may come to you, but If you piss them off they'll hiss and growl.

A good example is the libertarian party, which was once at the heart of the libertarian movement, but is now completely abandoned and in ruins, because the leadership started to dilute the message.
