Well if this doesn't work for you maybe you got a horrible computer and should light it on fire. Also make you you DEFRAG your game as that could end in a great result (Use GAME BOOSTER for defrang)

Very nice guide. Do you have something like this for TS?... i've downloaded it yesterday since i lost mine and the game runs horribly slow, like it lags way too much, to the point of making it unplayable. I've experienced this with Dungeon Keeper aswell, is there any way to solve it?

HERE IS A FIX THAT WORKS ON MULTIPLAYER 95% SURE!!

1. Play as china (any general)

2. Make an overlord

3. Move it near to a gatling cannon(base defence)

4. Select the gatling cannon, hold CTRL and left-click the overlord

5. Gatling cannon starts shooting the overlord and BANG! all lag disappear!

The lag ain't a registry thing, I tried RegCleaner and Ccleaner.. nothing.

The problem is a memory leak regarding Game.dat, it keeps eating up ram and eventually cripples the PC, when you start the game, alt+Tab and see the memory usage in Task Manager, then when the lag starts, check it again.

I find it build up faster with plyers and AI who mass big armies, so better avoid assigning China Infantry and China Tanks to AI and it would be *alittle* smoother, but there's no perminant fix so far

Bullshit. I'hve got alienware icore7 with 8 cpus,4gb fast ram,1gb video. When i go to the cachman durying this game, it show that every core usage is not more than 2-11%, and ram is on half. Skirdmishmode 1 vs 4 and i get the same shit lags after 5 mins..

Does the retarded lag patch really work for you?

I am playing only the normal zero hour expansion without mods.

Not sure how you define lag, but mine is occasional freezes in skirmishes, especially when there's alot of computers, even with the lag patch and 0.4ZH

Ok, here's what I did, I run regcleaner, cleaned up many useless registries, and tried zero hour again, and miraculously the game become much smoother.

Perhaps you should reccomend it too.

Great, I define lag as it is playing with a very slow FPS, Mine never really freezes. When it freezes suddenly, thats another thing. Anyways im happy for you, enjoy your gameplay :)
