these projects make we wanna look for a cube. most of the wood i have here is either way too small, or green, dropped a few months ago wood, not yet split to firewood
I'm wondering if I can turn just the 3 pointed dome so it's about 3/16" thick (the top piece), cut a slight recess in the underside the same diameter that the bottom dome would be and laminate a bowl of a different wood in place for the bottom side?
I'm playing with different ways to laminate blanks for these. Getting some good results too.
an idea .. make it two sided . take the bit from between the points, keeping all points. with some shape maybe to define it. A "double sided bottomless box" . just put the two designs together.. funn
Hi Cap,n I have another suggestion. I am going to try one of these but turn a foot on the the bottom a add a Candle Stick instead of a Finial. I know it wont be bottomless but it will be safer. Have a good Xmas & New Year and thanks for all your Video's you are great help to us beginers !
