Just about all lawmen during that time were walking the criminal line. Hell it was only 16 years after the Civil War and the U.S. was in a "Ball of Confusion" unemployment, cattle rustling, con games, shoot outs. Virgil Earp and James Earp were veterans and I'm sure some others were former rebels so you had that bullshit still steaming along with everything else. Doc was a redneck cracker from Georgia who was an alcholic and had T.B. he wanted to die, which made him for fearless.
You are right it was not an accident and these ppl are experts. Earlier Wyatt Earp made a pac with Clanton about finding the ppl who shot up the stage coach. Clanton was going to get some of the reward money and Earp was going to win a political postion. The stage robbers were killed by others and Clanton was afraid earp was going to mention it and the gang Clanton hung with would find out and kill him. This had to happen. Everybody want so pin shit on Doc. They try to say they weren't armed to.
The Earps wanted the cowboys out of the way, and Doc Holiday hated Ike Clanton with a passion. It wasn't an accident, Doc and the Earps knew what was going to happen and they wanted it to take place, they were murderers, no better then the Cowboys were, they got away with it because they wore a badge. I'm sure Billy Clanton even pleaded with his life for them not to shot and they killed him anyway, MURDERERS!
Unsolved History proved that when Doc Holiday cocked his double barrel shot gun and that click click set everything in motion and it all went to hell.
@kwatson813 Well he only used it when Tom McLaury shot Morg and then DOC used the Scattergun, Blaster, whatever you want to call it, on Tom who was armed (pistol was in his pants pocket) people earlier saw the outline of the pistol in his pocket, he than pulled his shirttail out of his pants and dropped it over his pants to hide his wpn---just like "gangbangers" do today--
@kwatson813 ya and 'unsloved history' claims flying saucers "real"---though I agree Doc cocked the shotgun unsolved history is not a good source of reliable info...
@kwatson813 No I said "Unsolved History" is NOT a vaild ref when discussing say things like the shootout. As an example I mentioned the silly programs Unsolved History discussing claiming "Flying Saucers" (from outer space are real) which is bunk...this causes Unsolved History to be questionable as a ref source...
@kwatson813 First off that is not totally correct (been in law enforcement) what I am writing about is people have to be careful citing a source such as Unsolved History is not on the level of a PBS program such as NOVA...even that is done to some extent for 'entertainment"...We are dealing with using the "scientific method" when examining history, the people, their actions and other factors---but again Unsolved History is very subjective and not an Objective Program which western science is...
this guy really lays it out well,I dont get why thers so much confusion over the ok corral wyat lived into the 1900's and his wife into the 1940's why dont we know exactly what happened?

I was there when it happened. What really happened is Holliday coughed on everyone, so they shot themselves to evade slow death.
