I find this video rather confusing. I have a video that I filmed that predates this where Buster explains the origins of the song. He wrote the song in memory of his own father who made shadows on the wall with his hands of birds and other images-hence the name Fingers in Flight. I suspect Buster was bending the truth a bit in this video.
@abaloneification Hi.... I uploaded this video this week. It's called -Buster B. Jones, 1999, CAAS, "Fingers In Flight". I have many videos of Buster and Tommy Emmanuel on my channel, please check them out.
I almost got to meet Buster...we just started corresponding by email and he gave me some encouraging advise. I had organized my first trip to the states and planned to meet him. Sadly, not long before the trip he passed away, and Jerry Reed... I was so devastated and still am after watching this again. RIP Buster B Jones, Im still gonna come and visit you one day.
I went to high school with Brad (Buster), Ames High School class of 1977. He was a nice guy that liked to hang out in the school lobby after classes and talk to the girls. There's a great write-up about him on the Godin Guitar website. Just Google his name and "Godin"
@UrbanCOwBoy32 watch Buster and listen what he is doing. The tuning is dropped D. The close up on the fretboard shows you all that is needed to learn the song.
Skaedis, I wrote "Goodbye Buster B." when I heard the tragic news. I'll be posting in a week or so. I had planned to meet him at this year's CAAS. When I heard the news, I was inspired to compose this tribute. I'll post it as a video response on this page. Such a loss.
Yes, it's a Godin multiac series. You can connect it to Roland devices that have 13 pin connectivity. I think youtube has the tutorial videos for those guitars floating about.
That's from the DVD "Buster B. Jones in Concert" and the soundman should have been SHOT. He was just the club's regular soundman (not someone specially for the DVD) and he was jealous of Buster's playing, so as the evening went on (I was there) it sounded worse and worse. Still, you can hear Buster's guitar well enough, though it is pretty muffled. It really pissed a lot of people off, though.
Pour un petit hommage à celui qui m'a fait aimé la guitare et son picking car sans lui je n'aurais jamais joué... Vous pouvez écouter la suite chez bobyjack2.
This sounds like it could have been written by Tommy Emmanuel. He left behind some great music.

Sounds like he's using a subtle Roland guitar synth patch underneath his picking. Very cool.
