The visual effects accomplished in this version I don´t think I´ve ever seen anywhere else. I don´t know the first thing about ballet but the neatness in every move is something one cannot fail to appreciate. Especially form 1:50 to 2:36. I swear those arms belong to magical creatures.
danced this ballet... to this coreography... incredible opportunity. this version is beautiful... notice how all there legs are at the exact same height during traveling arabesque... beautifully done
I love act II Giselle. It is so visually and musically stunning. I love Myrtha and the corps de ballet; and this is one of my favorite parts of Act II. Having said this; Act I has me fidgeting and yawning, lol.
Giselle is such a lovley ballet its just so hard to know where to begin. This is the invocation of giselle in to the spirit/willis world. For me art causes disscusion never wars and could be a bridge to peace.
this is perhaps the best performance of Petipa's choreography (done circa 1899) for the 'Grand pas de Wilis' I have ever seen performed live or on film. Perhaps the user should re-upload this clip - it is very stretched out.
This full length version with Galina Mezentseva as Giselle is unreal. What she lacked in terms of archy feet she more than made up for with technique and artistry.
This was such a fun ballet to do... I loved being a wilis. These girls dp it pretty well. The chugs are absolutely unreal with all of the legs on the same level... an absolutely remarkable part and done well.
@dansing416 You see, that-s exactly what I was thinking, how visually perfect this version is, compared to others. Every move is so neat and clean and soft and subtle. They really seem to be spirits, flowing from one place to the other. They-re so smooth it seems as if they were actually floating spirits.
I miss ballet so much. I have felt a part of me is missing ever since I stopped having lessons.

I had the opportunity to learn the corps piece, as well as the dance of the friends in act one. But they are soooo good I cannot believe my eyes!!

If by "pretty well" you mean "incredibly," then--yes.
