Holy shit, in the japanese horseback archery the archers shooting from a yumi???
Oh, and a reply to JOE - My dear Joe, this is NOT a sport. This is tradition. A piece of history. A piece of the japanese nation. A piece of the way of samurai.
Yes, the two styles are VERY different. Kassai stresses a farther target, which is much harder to hit than the closer broadside (and less battle appropriate) Samurai technique. The faster pace is much more dangerous for the horse as well (witness the Thoroughbreds breaking down).
That is pretty gay to waste time on such a stupid event. Maybe Obama can get you a government Stimulus job so you can do something more productive with your time. Did Helen Keller compose the music for you? That is torture to my ears and I just wasted 2minutes and 25 seconds of my life watching this video.
terrible music but great footage. i love the way they do it from the gallop. the kassai clips show the horse just trotting are there any clips of magyars firing from a fast horse?
Nice! Greetings from Hungary! If you are interested in horseback archery of other nations, please search youtube for "Kassai horseback-archery competition". I find it amusing to compare the two styles.
I think Mongolian is also good at it.

The music sounds like its from The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. It goes well with the movie, not so much for this otherwise excellant clip.
